The construction biz is fixing to go into warp drive in the SW Louisiana area. Y’all are sucking up the available building supplies on the Gulf Coast. With another hurricane hitting near us on Tuesday we might need the supplies back.

Nah, most of our stuff was telephone poles, of which we have a plant in town. We also have two plywood mills in the area, both of which are running wide open. The guys in Lake Charles are the ones sucking up resources, like that half-inch OSB for $20/sheet. OTOH, the biggest roofing supplier in town had their roof ripped off, so maybe we could use some shingles up here. And I don't know what y'all are yah-yahing about...Sally ain't gonna be but a Cat 1, or at best a Cat 2. How bad can it be? (Don't answer that question...)

Agree Ozarks Tom, my sister could do just what you said, especially with carpet. She did very well with the newer tile job, but the lifting isn’t something she enjoyed, at all. She needs a job in carpeting again. The sales she got amounted to big bucks in commission, plus her regular salary was excellent. She made a huge mistake in leaving her old job and regrets it now, for sure.

Jolly, I don’t expect it to be much. So far just picking up pool umbrellas and moving cars and trailers to higher ground along the coast. Tonight will tell but I have plenty of liquor and Blue Bell Ice Cream so I can handle anything.

The carpet store never contacted my sister, after 3 interviews, extensive conversations and them checking on all her references, BUT she did get the other job she wanted at another upscale tile store. Thank God, I was beginning to worry and wonder.
She said if the carpet store calls she would be so happy to tell them how shallow they were for leading her on for so long. She'd get a lot of pleasure from that.

Hope you didn't buy any lottery tickets this week. Seriously, let us know how you are doing as soon as you can...

We have a new Family Dollar store in the community. People are aggravated, because the store has very abbreviated hours. Finally heard from the manager...They can't open for regular hours, because nobody will work. Unemployment pays better. When we were in the city yesterday I noticed "Now hiring", signs in a number of store entrances. One said "Now hiring in ALL depts!"
