Yes, there is nothing like having 14 gallons of milk filling your entire refrigerator, lol.

Hmmmmm, I guess I'll have to call it -- didn't happen if there aren't pictures, lol. Come on, don't keep all the cow cuteness to yourself. ;-)

I remember in the days before everyone had telephones, I took two gallon jars of milk out of ref hit them together, sliced my hand open glass and blood everywhere! But mostly I remember my six year old daughter riding her pony as fast as he could go to get help!! I didn't know she was going but one of the memories stuck in my mind is her on that pony flying up the lane? This is the daughter that hasn't spoken to me since 1998?

Aww Ceresone, that's sad! Haha, just before opening this thread, I commented to Numb that I'll have to take some pics tomorrow if the weather stays nice. Of course they're all up to their briskets in mud now after yesterday's downpour! They are settling in nicely although I suspect Anna's and Marietta's bags will be painfully full for awhile yet. (Jewel and Babygirl were also toward the end of their lactations so their udders are already shrinking.) They have eaten EVERY blade of grass in that paddock, that's for sure!

Just a nosh at sunset! Clockwise from bottom right: Babygirl, Marietta, Annabelle, Jewel. It was getting dark so I'll get some better pics on Wednesday!

One more ... Babygirl looks strikingly like her mother! Can't wait to get some pics of them together.

willowgirl, thank you - I smiled early this morning looking at the pics - good way to start the day. If you ever take your pics and make a calendar - make sure to let me know. I'd love to have your cows in my kitchen.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! Numb is going out to check on the newbies this morning as I have to go work at the school. I laid up half the night wondering if they found their way back into the barn to sleep. When we first turned them out, they went in and jumped around in the straw we'd put down for them in the big stall. Poor Jewel is so big that she always had a hard time sleeping comfortably in the freestalls ... that won't be a problem for her going forward! I had not snapped to the fact that I had given you a nick name when relating your stories to Janet from time to time, until the other day she inquired as to how "the dairy queen" was doing with her cattle acquisitions. It would make a decent vanity license plate.....Joe
