Seems like a wonderful place....
One thing I noticed was the lack of chimney's.... I assume they heat with electric or perhaps more likely geothermal?

this is where they should have sent him. sayonara it actually looks warm there. the sticky snow indicates it is close to 32 and when people were walking it sounded slushy also indicating thawing. Now here is cold snow When it gets below 14° F it starts to make the crunchy squeaky sound.

We get some mushy snow the beginning and end of winter but most of our snow is like the the second video…crunchy!

The weather here is crazy! Sixty degrees today and calling for 50’s all week. It snowed lightly on Christmas Eve and looked so beautiful when I awoke. It was the kind of snow that stuck to the trees and a little on the grass. It all melted within an hour or so.
I’m really thinking this can’t keep being so warm and soon we’ll be blasted with freezing temps, ice and lots of snow. My front walkway turns to ice always and the back yard is ice too…always ice on top of snow.
But last year in I had crocuses blooming in February and this years Lilacs bloomed in May as usual and then again for the first time ever, Lilacs bloomed again in October. I wonder if it’ll ever get back to the weather of years ago.
Referring to snow: sticky, no sticky, no sticky, sticky!!! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️

<button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> bd Looks like you got an inch or so of snow? We got some here too, no big deal but roads are icy. Eldest DD and DSil came over, they said they couldn’t get stopped at my driveway, slid right on by. Good thing because a guy behind them was driving too fast and couldn’t stop either, if they’d been stopped he’d have rear ended them. Supposed to get more snow tonight. With the wind chill the roads will stay iced up, and we’ll be getting 4 more days or so of snow this week. Going to cancel my rehab appts, not risking my car on icy roads.

It was closer to 4 inches but is melting off.... more on the way the next couple of days, temp dropping to low 20's, then rain/snow. THAT's the big concern around here is everything icing up then losing power.
I wish I knew why I was feeling so anxious about this. I've got my bases covered, my only concern is my chest freezer. But what's it gonna do - warm up to freezing?? Nothing to worry about, the thing is packed with ice blocks at 5 degrees.

I’m sure you’ll be fine BrewDaddy, your mind is probably just on autopilot, thinking about previous times when you weren’t as well prepared. I’m a bit concerned about pipes freezing at my other house, temps are supposed to drop to 10 here, which means it might get even colder. Not much I can do about it, though, so I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. I’ll call the plumber and see if he can find time to get out here and drain the pipes. Will cost me at least $100 (probably more) but the savings on the electric bill will make up for it.
