You can usually identify a sociopath by their eyes. They bore right thru you. But I disagree that it is child abuse. Certainly not always. Might be head injury or extremely high fever for too long.

I tire of "bad childhood did it". Who had a perfect childhood. So many great people went thru hell and did great things as an adult.
I put more weigh on messed up brain, From birth and booze and drugs and choosing to be a victim when they get out of a hellish home. People go down the wrong path and don't turn around...I admire those that chose to turn around. There will always Evil it ain't heaven.
Life is not easy for anyone.

I agree that in some cases it could be due to child abuse, injury, etc. but for the most part I believe evil people are just evil.
So many children have been abused, sometimes horrendously. In my own family, I know of at least 11 who have been abused, 10 sexually and 2 suffered severe physical and mental abuse…severe meaning any jury would convict if they heard the facts. Throughout my life I’ve known more women who were sexually and/or physically abused than not. (In one Bible study class I attended, all but one of the women had been sexually abused as children, including the pastor’s wife.) NOT ONE has physically or sexually abused people or animals. In most cases, they have become strong advocates for abused children, adults and animals, not wanting to see others go through what they did. So at least in my personal experience, the vast majority of abused children do not become abusers/sociopaths. Which would indicate to me that the majority of evil people are evil by choice. There isn’t always a cause for people doing evil.

So often it’s an excuse. As soon as a criminal gets caught they start in with the “I was abused” line. Well, so were 1/2 or 3/4 of the rest of the people out there who aren’t committing crimes. I had bio siblings who, while they weren’t physically abused, certainly had a childhood where they suffered due to neglect, etc. They grew up POOR, where they didn’t even have basic necessities like adequate food. Just about everything was wrong with their childhood. Yet none made excuses, they worked hard from a very early age, learned to manage finances, stayed out of trouble and raised good kids. They became Christians although they’d never been taken to church. Two of my sisters ended up running companies. I see that as a choice, which I also believe is in line with what the Bible teaches. We choose good or evil.

Choosing the wrong path is a terrible thing.i have no idea when my sister started her day dreams.i know I found out maybe 2-3 years before Mother passed away. She continued in them while married to her husband. They were so realistic that no one knew if it was real or not.4 hospitals and I had her for a month. Her deadliest enemy was me. Only by the grace of God did she not kill me. Why me? Maybe it went back to Mother naming me the at 16 the boss of the he house and banking.. She never could make me do her will. At assisted living she is finally boss. It takes six people to take care of her. But she has her way. She is in confinement there other wise she would be in a mental institutions.

daw, you are so right! Traumatic brain injuries rewire a humans thoughts and behaviors, That could be a factor. Childhood abuse and neglect rewires a humans neurons. That could be a factor. PTSD definitely rewires a humans brain. That could be a factor. Human trafficking, rape, and child molestation, rewires a humans brain That could be a factor. The occult, dabbling or all in, opens doors that allows evil to enter. Evil always brings a crowd thru the door. That could be a factor. What the mother consumed, and was exposed to environmentally while pregnant, could be a factor. What the child was fed from birth till.......could be a factor. We all know the darn food is posioned. The water? Two words: Flint, Michigan. Generational curses........ So no ONE Thing a serial killer / narcissist / sociopath / psychopath makes.......discount, nothing.
