partndn, Spicy Kosher Dill Later in the year we're going to try pickled green tomatoes with the same method. We love them with fried catfish.

So I tried my pickles. Pretty good! A little hot from the vinegar for my taste so I just dumped some of the vinegar out and added a little water to the jar I opened up. Opened jars of pickles don't last long at our place.

Ouch on the prices! Don't think I'd be making too many pickles for that.

Wow! I'm tempted to load up my truck and head for Michigan!
People here have started running the other way when they see me with shopping bags in my arms.

All right already! I'm here OK? Can't y'all leave a hermit alone? I don't try to be a hermit,it just comes natural!
Well hey! That felt good! Actually I've been around, just not say'n much. I've been in and out of the hospital a couple times lately.I'll slip in and read a bit but didn't feel up to posting.
Back in March my circulation in both legs dropped below 48% sitting and below 20% active.By the time they go to fixing on June 5 on the left leg it was 100% blockage. The right leg got fixed June 27. Same thing 100% blockage in the thigh area. The only blood flow to my legs was through capillaries according to the surgeon. He said mine was the worst he had ever seen. (My feet stay cold even in summer for as long as I can remember) After stents, balloons and scraping I now have 100% circulation.According to him I am "one of the lucky few"(read as unlucky) that has a swelling problem after this surgery. He said I may have never had good blood flow because the veins can not carry it back to the heart therefore I have to wear compression socks which relieves the pain below the knees but increases the flow to above the knees causing the thighs to hurt because of the extra blood.
So,that's where I'm at. Just now able to get up and get some stuff done around here! Glad some of y'all are enjoying the "pickles". It's kind'a nice to know I was missed, but I'm back(some anyway) And if I forgot to address something let me know, Wade

Wow! I'm tempted to load up my truck and head for Michigan! People here have started running the other way when they see me with shopping bags in my arms. Crazy huh. We are even in a pickle zone, I see tractor trailers full with cucumbers from farms. It is a great growing area here, soil is good for many many types of crops. So far, tomatoes( just priceing them) are getting 17. for half bushel. 4.00 doz. corn

1shotwade, you certainly have had a run of "luck" - both kinds! Glad to see you. God bless you with complete healing and fabulous circulation. Now go eat some pickles!

Okay, we tried the 1shotwade, method, put up a dozen quarts. As Tony the Tiger would say "Theeyy're GREAT!" The best pickles we've ever done, crisp as anything we've every bought. We love dills, so I doubt they'll last till the next pickling. Just thought you'd like to know.

I made some as well. Nice and crisp. A little too vinegary for me so I just added some bottled water to the opened jar. Once opened the pickles stay in the fridge and are consumed pretty quick.
