Is this the one who-as soon as PA had the law to send virus pts to nursing homes-pulled HIS mom out & into a hotel? I have no idea, but I just telling Numb the other day that you'd think, in light of this pandemic and the way it's sweeping nursing homes, that loving children would be scrambling to get their parents out of those places, right? "Come on Mom, you'll be safer in my home ..."
I'll bet not one in 1,000 has been "rescued."
My parents are on a memory unit. Thank God, the people there take good care of them, and have gone above and beyond what is necessary to safeguard their health. Even if they didn't, it would be a toss up as to whether they would be safer out of the facility than in. Mom's Alzheimer's has progressed to the point that she is an elopement risk. Dad has become dangerous to himself and others.
I pray for the people who work with my folks and siblings who have taken the job of keeping the parents safe. That family system gives a whole new meaning to "dysfunctional."

Updating this with another bizarre story that my lady boss told me last night:
Evidently a friend of her daughter's got a foreign object in her eye and ended up going to the ER over it. At the hospital admissions desk, she was told she would have to have a coronavirus test. She said, "That's not what I'm here for," and was informed that it was mandatory not optional for anyone seeking treatment in the ER. This did not sit well with her for whatever reason and she chose to leave instead.
Two days later, she got a letter from the CDC saying she had tested positive for Covid and was required to quarantine, etc.
She was never tested.
As my lady boss said, "It kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?"

willowgirl, that's crazy. When I went to the ER they didn't test me, despite the fact that I reported cold symptoms a few days before.

A friend of mine had to be tested because of exposure and some mild symptoms (could have been allergies, but...)
She waited for A MONTH for her results. They were obviously lost, but she was told that she was negative.
She doesn't know whether she was negative or positive, but she works in a lab, so she knows lost samples/results when she encounters it.
We've all seen the story about the guy who ran tests on a goat and a papaya, and the results came back positive.
While I don't deny that the virus is real, I sincerely and with good reason doubt the tests they are running.
