I remember a nurse who had practiced for 45 years, telling me that it was much healthier for a person to be in the community and fighting off the many colds/flus that occur because it strengthens the immune system. "Except for the Spanish flu or its cousin", she said.
Covid19 does not appear, at this point, to be that cousin. Can we please, please get the country opened up again and allow people to decompress in ways other than violence?
I would argue that unions need to be abolished, whether it be police or teachers. Allow an outside agency to investigate possible misconduct that doesn't have a vested interest in the situation. This solution will help the public to gain trust in the institutions again and could possibly bring good people together.

I've been concerned about Merks, who'd been reporting regularly on the hospital situation in her town. Merks, if you see this, let us know you're alright.

@pony, Merks was logged in on June 1st, so she's around, but we haven't heard any updates on her hospital. Just hoping she feels like posting.

Numbers still climbing here. 40 new cases today in my county - only 3 related to nursing home testing, which means there's a lot of community spread happening.
