I’ve been reading about this lately and it aggravates me no end. I always pull out most of my monthly income as it hits the bank, as I pay my bills, buy groceries etc. in cash. Hate writing checks. I can bet they will soon put a stop to using cash (can’t see what you’re spending it on) and will eventually go to some sort of tracking system like…oh…perhaps a chip in your hand or something??

If you think about how many transactions they will be reviewing vs the staffing shortage that even they claim....let them have it. If you are going to keep cash at home, please purchase a fireproof safe. We all know they will target who they will track. I'm sure there is a list somewhere. Probably just has redcoats on it.

Every transaction over $600? They've got to be kidding. There's no way they're watching those transactions, what they want is ammunition to go after small businesses they cherry pick and impose penalties for all the minor transgressions that would otherwise be just normal commerce. wildhorseluvr , I hope you realize by doing your business in cash you're going to be targeted as a drug kingpin (queenpin?). @farmchix , I'm told, but wouldn't know because we certainly don't have enough cash to worry about it, that small fire resistant safes are lined with wet gypsum as a heat retardant, and need to be aired out regularly or the contents will rot from the moisture. We know a couple who had to put several thousand dollars in their dehydrater to get the moisture and moldy smell out of it. Another six months and it would have been mush.

Well, then, guess I’ll have to become a black marketeer to get my nonalcoholic Lime Rickeys and my monthly box of 4 ice cream bars (survival food).

Whenever I see the gubmint come out with something where they land on some number that is the threshold they are going to use, I always find myself asking one question: Why?
Why THIS number?
In this case, it's $600. Why not $599? $625? $412.87?
What is so special to them about $600 I wonder?

Because they'd have tipped their hand if they'd have made it $666?

I started my shop in 2007. I got a form to fill out for my equipment costs and the dates purchased. I filled it out....honestly...well..kind of correct. I got a personal property tax bill for $200 in the mail. I got it down to about $90 per year, before the town stopped the tool tax on shops a few years ago. Tax a business to death and see what happens. Our town is stagnant for growth

Great idea! Hackers have already proven they're able to break into our most secure government organizations and steal hundreds of million of records, why not make our entire economy connected to the web, what could go wrong?

NEC= non employee compensation ! There are something like 11 different classification(s) that the Payor can use to define the nature of the work performed ! , fordy
