I can tell you that unless you have the patience of Job, you will quickly get sick and tired of trying to get accurate distribution while working with those tiny pressures and wide variations. SO MANY cheap pumps of one kind or another available today from the folks who brought you COVID=19 that when/if you finally give up and buy one, you will be grinning like a Possum. BUT!, by all means, first satisfy your curiosity. You might find that you actually ENJOY torturing yourself .....Joe

Guess what he found? All the water drained out of the distribution pipe in the first few holes in the first two feet of pipe. His conclusion was the use of distribution pipe down the entire length of a drainfield trench is not needed. Only a 3-foot section, at most, is needed. The wastewater will find its way to the end of the trench by travelling through the trench rock and over the trench bottom. --- --- Yes... This is all true... However.. As ground water, time and such fills the bottom of the pipe between the holes at the 5 and 7pm positions, water will run farther down the pipe.. This and local history of the area, and local perk tests usually will give a clue to how long a drain field will last.. Then there is some science that goes with why 1 pipe 200 feet long doesn't work as well as 4 pipes 50 feet long.. But I don't remember details..
