Many here do starting of plants in my neck. As we have more land not like postal plots in soldotna or kenai.
I have two pigs and at least 60 meat birds to raise. The food and cost for the animals is split 3 ways I am the 4th...my share is land shelter and sweat. Butchering is the a 4 party deal with two former farmer folks on lead. They moved off farms but want to put up meat.
I get 1/4 just causei have the land and time.

That's a bit of a loaded question. It all depends on your forte and location for the needed service. In my golden years, I'm planning on making custom upholstery, mainly boat stuff. Not too loaded. 😊 It presupposes doing something that doesn't require hard physical labor and something an older person could do as a second career or a part-time gig. I'll give you an example, but it depends on having a specific skill...The wife got a call from the local funeral home, hunting somebody to play for funerals held in their chapel. They have a list of a few pianists, as nobody does this full-time, but one of their older ladies had had an accident and probably wasn't coming back. They needed somebody else for the list with flexible hours. My wife said okay, after hearing what they wanted. It's $50/funeral and is far from steady income. I've seen her go two weeks without a call. Recently, she did four services in five days. Looks like it's going to average out at 3 a month, maybe 4. Between setting up and playing for the service, it takes about an hour, maybe a little less, of on-site time. It ain't a living, but $150-$200 a month with no outlay is sure welcome. 😊 Not a bad idea. If you have a green thumb you might even sell the flower arraignments too, along with supplying the music. The big plus is never worrying if the market will ever dry up, lol. Death is a 100% guarantee in life!
