Thanks for the info, fixitguy! I was really interested in this some time back but events kept me tied up most of the year and it sorta slipped my mind. I can easily access large or small panels of the famous Sedona red flagstone, and may try my hand this winter.....Joe

I wish I'd have thought of a granite marker for Toughy - The World's Best Cat. So far I've bought three little brass plaques that keep fading out after only a couple years, even spraying them with UV inhibitor clear poly. I'd like the next owners of this property to look and say "Damn, that must have been one good cat!" He was. There's an old black man that lives around here that does concrete monuments. He uses letters and numbers cut from stock, that he presses into the concrete. No, the job doesn't look as nice as a $1500 slab of marble, but his clients are folks burying loved ones in old church cemeteries and they can't afford the pricey stuff. He generally takes what a family can give him, but I've known him to do tombstones for free, if the family will help him put them up.
