Haven't tried peaches but elderberries practically dig the hole then plant and grow themselves. A couple of years ago a buck rubbed one of ours halfway to the ground. In the spring I picked one of the limbs off the ground and trimmed out three cuttings, then popped them in the ground. Two of them took root after laying there through multiple freeze/thaw cycles and the dessication from windburn.
If you want to make points with the neighbors cuttings from crop-bearing mulberries are fairly easy too. If you grow them from seed it'll take ten years to find out if you've got a male or a female, cuttings from females can produce in 3-4 years.

Saw a youtube about candy cane peppers, suppose to be really sweet. So I took a chance and ordered some seeds off of ebay. Got the seeds yesterday, the seller also included seeds for Golden Cayenne pepper. Looks like more peppers in my future.

Put my 6 week cold strat seeds in the fridge yesterday. Labeled all of my seed start cells with my peppers. Watched a ton of YouTube on companion planting. I don't have a big lot, so I need to make the most of what I have!!
This Thursday our temps will be almost 50, so I will prune back my peach trees, grape vines, elderberry and hops.

The asparagus ferns have finally turned yellow so I'll be cutting them back this week. I was beginning to wonder if they were ever going to turn. And while I'm outside with the pruners, I guess I'll start pruning my roses. Maybe if I start mid-January, I'll actually get it done by mid-February - when it's supposed to be completed in this area.
We're forecast to have a wet week so I figure it'll be a good time to plant pepper seeds. And uh oh.....start looking through this stack of seed catalogs that's sitting beside me.

Saturday, our Master Gardeners put on a seed exchange event! It's an annual thing. My daughter and I picked up a handful of seeds.....some really interesting tomatoes.
Monkey Azz Goat Sac Cow T!ts Anna Bananna
We giggled like 12 year olds when we saw them! The place, was PACKED. And after her and I were there for about an hour and a half? There was STILL a line to get in. Probably double the attendance of last year.
ETA: My elderberry starts are starting to sprout leaves!!!!!

Well thanks to this thread I just ordered more seeds. I need to order a few more supplies and then I'll be ready to experiment with the kratky method of hydroponics using peppers. How I got obsessed with peppers I'll never know, it's not like I'm very fond of them. Especially hot peppers (thankfully not the reapers, scorpions and such), I'm definitely not a hot pepper person but here I am.

I started my super hots on a paper towel to get them to sprout! And sprout most of them did!! Transplanted them into dirt a couple days ago. Sitting on a heat mat, covered with plastic. Let the games begin!!!
Ghost White Ghost Reaper Trinidad Scorpion Apocolypse Scorpion Jamacian Scotch Bonet Chocolate Habanero Habanada (habenero without heat) Thor's Thunderbolt Hatch Chilies (med heat)
Thor didn't sprout, but the seeds puffed up. Hoping the dirt will help them do the right thing!!
