It was 1994. I was in a 19' Mako center console on the way from West Palm to Treasure cay. Sea kicked up...in 2 hours went from 6-8' swells to 33' seas. Couldn't turn back...had to forge ahead (tournament next day, I was in charge of the tender). 4.5 hour run turned into 9 hour run. About out of fuel, and then LAND HO...saying to my self...radio to mother ship already gone. Long story short, I made it...after overshooting the final swell and dropping into the shallows. Resurfaced a few minutes later...brand new day old boat torn to bits, but still operational. Been close to death a few times...that one takes the cake. Wonder why my body hurts...lol!
