voxday.net/2024/04/02/this-is-not-self-defense/This is not Self-Defense The IDF murdered seven aid workers yesterday, three of whom were British special forces veterans, in three targeted drone strikes. Late on Monday night three cars from the World Central Kitchen pulled out of the organisation’s warehouse in Gaza to distribute aid to Palestinians. Each vehicle was clearly marked as working for the humanitarian organisation, followed an IDF-approved route and had GPS trackers and SOS beacons broadcasting their positions. But despite taking every precaution, the seven brave volunteers inside the cars were being watched – and were soon deemed hostile targets and eliminated. Among the doomed passengers were former Royal Marine James Henderson, 33; former SBS soldier John Chapman, 57; as well as a British military veteran named last night by the BBC as James Kirby. the IDF unit responsible for securing the area ordered UAV operators to attack one of the vehicles shortly before midnight. It deployed a precision R9X Hellfire missile which smashed into one of the armoured cars. Passengers were seen scrambling from the wreckage and jumping into the other two vehicles. They informed authorities monitoring their movements that they had been hit and sped off. After travelling just 900 metres the Hermes 450 fired once more. The second armoured car was hit, leaving just the soft-skinned 4×4 remaining. Surviving passengers loaded the wounded into the final vehicle and pulled away. But having made it 1.5km further along the coastal road the UAV fired for a third time – blasting the remaining vehicle to bits. more at link *Have y'all heard of this incident?

I read about it yesterday. I read earlier that Israel did apologize for it, blaming it on bad intel. Unfortunately, innocent people often die in wars.

farmgirl, I searched that last one and cannot find any confirmation- it may be too fresh, or hopefully, false Thank you for all you do to keep us up to date and safe. You're very welcome! I hope it's not true, I wish this would all die down, because it seems like we're on the way to WWIII.

Attachment DeletedIt's like you order a chicken sandwich, in a hurry to go back to work. They bring you a fish sandwich. When you tell them this isn't what I ordered. "I'm sorry". An apology doesn't change the fact that this is the wrong order and now I'm late back to work. Israel apologizing doesn't change the fact that innocent people are DEAD. And they are doing this kind of thing quite a lot in this 'war'. Too often.

The Iranians would have to have a death wish, which isn't necessarily out of the question, to directly strike Israel. Israel has been reading Iran's mail for decades, and know exactly how many nukes the have in spite of the fabrication that Iran is just working on their first nuke missile. A direct strike would be understood, correctly, as just the preliminary for all out war.
Israel's forces are on the verge of being stretched thin if Hezbollah were to unleash their thousands of missile on Israel's north, and possibly further. The combination of a Hezbollah commencement with a strike from Iran would put Israel in a desperate position, and desperation situations call for desperate measures.
Nearly the whole Middle East would openly condemn Israel for nuking Iran, but quietly celebrating the demise of their own worst enemy.

As to the seven aid workers being killed, let's put things in perspective.
Haven't we all heard the phrase "the fog of war"? That specifically describes when people with a duty to protect their own, make a terrible error of judgement and innocents die. No war is without those casualties, and none ever will be. Those decisions are made by human beings, and we all know just how flawed they are.
An example: In Vietnam when we first arrived, in various firefights we collected many Russian AK-47's. Our M-16's were crap, prone to jamming at the absolute worst times (thanks McNamara). As a result, several infantrymen would take the very reliable captured AK-47's into the field desiring a more dependable way of protecting themselves and their comrades. Unfortunately, the AK-47 has a very different report than the sharp sound of an M-16, and in a close contact firefight those soldiers with M-16's might hear an AK-47 go off close by, and thinking it was a VC, throw a hand grenade in that direction. It took several needless deaths before the problem was realized and solved. Infantry was forbidden to carry AK-47's into the field. That's a small rendition of the "fog of war". Oh, as an aside, whatever happened to those captured fully automatic AK-47's? Just a whole bunch were broken down into smaller assemblies and mailed home. Yeah, this country is full of them, but nobody's talking about it.

I posted it in another thread, about U.N. aid workers but declined to say much of what I thought about it. In times like that, words are useless. It would be nice to say it was an unforeseen event but if you remember when 3 or 4 Israeli hostages were shot by the IDF a few months ago, this event and many others like it are as inevitable as tomorrow's sunrise. It's also why my stomach turns and my head aches whenever I hear of yet another war break out on this planet, no matter how good, right or just, the supposed cause is stated. I promise you that when God witnessed the 1st killing on this earth (Abel) He bowed His head and cried, and always reminds me of this verse.

Israel has known for a long time that their only path to survival as a nation and a people is the eventual nuking of Iran. If Iran were to attack from their own ground Israel will finally have the reasonable rational to end Iran's threat.
The question here should be does Iran have a death wish, which might very well be the case. Their belief in their 12th Iman's return to bring Islam to the entire world is deeply held, and the trigger for that in their theology is bringing about worldwide conflagration. That should worry everyone.
