Reckon it's safe for septic systems? To my knowledge the only danger to septic systems is anything that would destroy the bacteria. Phosphates have been in laundry and dish detergent for a long, long time. It's only recently they've been banned.

Just got TSP at Home Depot - $9.00 for a large 4.5 lb container. BTW: it's in the paint department, not cleaning items isle.
TSP is a good analogy for what's going on today:
government takes away something "good", "regulates" it and makes the common people pay more to replace it or find a replacement for it... Another example is coal.

wolfmom, Yep, it's in the paint department because it's a solvent, it cuts smoke and grease from surfaces to be re-painted. We almost didn't re-paint our living room/dining room after cleaning the ceiling and walls with it. If we hadn't wanted another color we wouldn't have.
