If I'm not mistaken Missouri has the lowest state tax on gasoline in the country. Almost makes me wish I had somewhere to go.

We refine mainly airplane fuel. That and though we are the state physical port of entry right on the kenai... on the books legally it is noted as anchorage. This is important to understand why fuel is expensive here out side of anchorage.
Delivery mileage is calculated not from one place on the kenai to another place on the kenai but rather from anchorage to kenai... and that is the start of the mileage... now anchorage ..(large population ...funny how the vote worked in the state legislature years ago)....they do not pay for delivery.... but all others get to eat it based on a mathematical formula. Mob rule

If I'm not mistaken Missouri has the lowest state tax on gasoline in the country. Almost makes me wish I had somewhere to go. Sorry buddy...... But while Missouri's is low, it's not the lowest. That honor goes to Georgia, followed by (are you sitting down paisley?), ALASKA!!! Next in line is Virginia. Missouri is probably in the top 10 as far as least amount of tax incurred. Here's the link of all the states and because it's over a year old, may not be current or up-to-date: www.missourigasprices.com/tax_info.aspxMissouri doesn’t have the lowest fuel taxes in the country, but at 17.3 cents per gallon they’re fairly low. Added with the federal fuel tax of 18.4 cents, Missourians pay a total of 35.7 cents in tax per gallon. The big difference, according to AAA spokesman Mike Right, is that Missouri doesn’t add sales tax on top of the fuel tax. In Illinois, where the per gallon tax is just one cent higher than Missouri’s, there’s also a 6.25 percent sales tax. One would guess that the highest taxes paid on gasoline in the nation would be CALIFORNIA..... but they'd be wrong; the land of fruits and nuts comes in 3rd from the top. The highest taxes are paid by those living in New York, followed by Pennsylvania.

Well, our legislation wants to raise that state gas tax. Can't cut non profits, or reduce waste and redundancy.

In my town in Ohio it's $1.95. In the town where I work, 15minutes up the road, it's $1.90. Hometown in WV it's $2.16. DH is in Ohio while I'm at the WV farm this weekend. He filled up a spare gas can and I'm thinking about buying another can to fill next week. Who knows if these prices will stay for long, so I'm enjoying them while they are here.

Ohio, $ 1.69/gallon for gas. Milk is $2.99/gallon. At one point in my childhood my Grandpa expounded on the price relationship between gas and milk, basically saying that milk being cheaper than gas was the sign of a strong economy. I wish that I had been older, and remembered his explanation now.

The pfd is nice and I have no shame in getting it as the state owns my subsurface rights ...but water. That's the source of the fund...the state had no shame in stripping those rights from the land at statehood. Only original tracks to homesteads own such rights and that's rare.
New oil tax to add 8 cents a gallon.
Still showing 2.36...but it's not five dollars...
