Darn it they"the official state source for info on this said with 1%of the total population was the leading % ...ok so we only have , 700k plus chump so reaching a high % does not take as many people. Heck in whitter there is only two housing units and everyone basically live I One of two units.
Many communities have shut access not just native tribal communities. Add in raven air line the only airline servings communities just went belly up 90 million. In the red. Then the ice will be multi g so no more sledding between communities.
Most of us feel it's the druggies getting and sharing it because the hotspots are known drug traffickers communities.
Whittier is a city at the head of the Passage Canal in the U.S. state of Alaska, about 58 miles (93 km) southeast of Anchorage. The city is within the Valdez–Cordova Census Area. At the 2010 census the population was 220, up from 182 in 2000. The 2018 estimate was 205 people, almost all of whom live in a single building. Whittier is also a port for the Alaska Marine Highway

paisley , I'm not trying to be argumentative, but if your official state agency is telling you they're in the lead, they're lying to you. They have tested over 1%. That part is true. But several states have tested more. For instance, NY and Louisiana have each tested more than 2% of their populations. Still low, but they're in the lead.

Now today, on this most Holy day, I heard 3 more people died from covid at the CP Nursing home, someone’s mother on my street died from it, too. I don’t know if the mother lived on our street or not.
To anyone who Is alone, please reach out for help if you need it. This is becoming very hard here.

I now know four people who have had it. Only one was hospitalized, but he's out now.
Do I know a lot more people than everyone else here? Probably not. All of the four I know live near Detroit, one of the worst hit places. Now past the peak, though.
I know the grandparents of a young guy who died from it, but I didn't know him. 24 years old, never even made it to the hospital because doctor wouldn't test him based on two video chats, but he was tested after death.

Not yet still will know in a few days. The unit my aunt in Boston had a staffer with it.
The place really did a bang up job keeping everyone in their places vs group activities.
Weeks ago they set up people stay in their rooms, The rooms are quite large as in Ann room is larger than her condo. They are self contained nice bathrooms & "social personal room" some have an extra room for a family member or private nurse.
They got tablets that they only focused on how to request help and springing their friends. The cafe was still going but instead of sitting at the table a ordering the phones in and it was delivered to their room.
The goal was to keep the it's from contact from other pt's. Oddly they maintained the salon In site open as it provided personal care .....and it is well loved.
They have a high ratio of staff that prompted memory and socialization... The bar was shut down though. It's a nice place.
At this point we will not panic Ann (she is at peace with dieing but why worry her. She is past 96 and physically healthy ....last physical the doc said her body has 10more years by her mind not so much. If you pray keep her calm happy and worried free. Her test results will come in a few days!!!!

I still don't know anyone who is a C19 victim...other than myself. Did I get the virus? No.
What I got was the Corona-cut. I couldn't stand it any longer. My hair was the longest its been since I was a teen. I would get out of bed in the morning and I looked like the Nutty Professor's even nuttier lab assistant.
I had DW bring her horse clippers from the barn and she just gave me a buzz cut. Now I'll have to trim up my beard to match. It feels a lot better but it isn't a look I'll stick with for long. Hopefully by the time it is ready to cut again, the barbershops will be open.

Yes. My grand babies Paternal Grandparents. Pap was in the hospital for days, on O2, came home 2 weeks ago, and is still recovering. GiGi was sick, real sick, for 10 days, but was on the mend 2 days before Pap came home. She has 100% recovered.
I, and my doc, are 99.7% sure I had it at the end of Feb, and we are waiting until May 1 when I can get tested for the antibodies. She is going to look at my chest xray from 2/24 also. It took me 4 weeks from 1rst fever, until last cough, to recover. It was like sucking on hot coals. It was horrible.

I've got another to maybe add to my list, a niece who works in a nursing home. One of her patients tested positive, the facility didn't tell her until a week later, and now she has some symptoms. She got the test but hasn't gotten results yet.
I'm assuming the patient must have gotten it from one of the other nurses since the place has been locked down to visitors for over a month, but they're still not testing all their employees. Niece went and got her test on her own from her primary care physician.

I still don't know anyone who is positive.
I know lots of people who are out of work, or had their hours cut, or simply had their pay cut (mine was cut 41% through Dec 31...no change in work load though - "just be happy you have a job").

Was chatting with my best bro a few minutes ago and it turns out his in-laws were in the hospital mom twice and dad once, after returning from a training conference in Vegas back in December.
She hasn't been tested yet but the docs are convinced enough she had Covid-19 that they've added her to the plasma serum thing list.
This was before Covid-19 was really a 'thing' so they didn't treat her in the way they are apparently doing so now. They thought she had some form of pneumonia and thought it best to make her lungs work rather than be passive with a ventilator, so they pumped her full of steroids. She's 71, not terribly overweight and I don't know if she had any other issues. I'm part of the 'adopted family' so I know these people pretty well, do Christmas and Turkey at their house etc.
The husband was sick and in the hospital too, both doing pretty fine now...

There's a whole thread of me whining on the other site, about how long the 'flu' was taking to run its course. I look back on that thread, and the email I sent to my doc, and wow.....just wow. I am convinced I had the Rona.

I take the dog clippers to Numb's hair (what's left of it ... heh) every few months, whenever he starts getting shaggy. He hasn't been to a barber in years!
