Haha, the latest from Governor No-Motor, up in my neck of the woods where they have a summer house. Pretty sure their boat is motorized, as their lake isn't big enough to sail.
Not in the story, but rumor is that after he played the "governor's husband" card they told him he was moved to the bottom of the list.

Why is it that people that can afford a summer house, with a boat kept in storage, would try to coerce and/or name drop when just saying "I know you must be busy right now, but do you think I could sweet talk someone into doing it for $100"?
Grease works, varying degrees of force? Not so much....
I can't tell you how many times I've gotten people to do something extra for me just by asking if I could pay for that service... most are just happy to be asked w/o some sort of b.s. power play going on.

Dang shame they couldn't accommodate him, he probably wanted to tie some weights around his ankles and jump in. I know if I was married to her I would.

Poor man, he probably has a miserable life. I wonder if she is as bossy with him as she is to her constituents. Thanks to the ruling we are really hoping that people will go about their business and stay healthy. I felt bad for my favorite lady at Goodwill, she is older and more likely to catch it. She's a pastor's wife and she visits our church for the Christmas Eve services. I asked her if she was worried and she said that as a pastor's wife she has an excellent immune system and that she's ready. I wear a mask inside there to protect the workers, they are almost all Grandmothers and always know where the best fabric and books are. As far as engines increasing the spread some common sense would solve the problem. Alas, it seems to have increased delusional behavior.

True story.
Fox59 news this morning, seriously reported that studies show that if your ring finger is long (like almost or as long as your middle) then you will not suffer the extreme symptoms of the Covid19.
Really. Yup.
Are there people sitting around a table saying "let's put this out there and see who believes this".....snicker snicker snicker.

He's a dentist. Dentists often have dark mental/emotional things going on.
Back to the boat thing, he was reportedly polite and didn't make a big deal about it when he was denied, but the bigger public uproar is about the perceived hypocrisy. His wife had just opened up the northern counties, but strongly urged people not to go "up north" for the holiday weekend. I'm guessing he was planning to go without her, though.
They're now saying that he knew it wouldn't get him to front of the line, but said it as a joke. Sounds plausible, but not a funny joke to the guys working their butts off because they're three weeks behind schedule due to the governor's order. Also, he may have said it jokingly, but I bet there was also a little hope that it would really work. Guys are good at that tactic, so if we get shot down it's no big deal because we were "joking" anyway...just a way of saving face.
