This is a story about my neighbor just up the road: www.forbes.com/sites/antoinegara/2020/04/13/how-a-goat-farmer-built-a-doomsday-machine-that-just-booked-a-4144-return/#442a267a3b1bI knew he was a wealthy investor, but I had no idea he has billions under his management. That article estimates his net worth at $250 million. I also never knew he wrote books on investing. I'll be ordering those, but probably won't understand them. We usually just chat about farming, politics, and flying (he's a pilot and I used to be) when we run into each other. His wife is the real farmer in his family, but he loves the numbers part of it. I guess next time I see him at the diner, I won't hesitate to let him pay for my coffee.

That was pretty interesting to read......if you're a numbers geek like me or Sheldon Cooper, lol. I learned about the options segment of the stock market when I was in my teens, but it always sounded like high risk gambling and usually turns out that way. But this guy succeeds by doing the opposite of what most people do with options and I never heard the logic explained until now. I knew about "puts" and "calls" and they were basically opposites but for some reason it seemed like 90% were always betting on big profits on the calls..........and losing their shirts the same way. This guy must have a lot of capital to invest and a lot of patience to wait for all the short losses to pay off when the market flips like it just did.

@jtb, private pilot, I assume? My DH, his dad, brother, nephew, my uncle and my Sil all were/are private pilots.

Yes, private pilot, single engine land and sea. That's a lot of pilots in your family...cool!
