Now that things seem to be in the begining stages of coming back from the depths of the lock down... Seemingly ever so slowly... On some forums people are starting to ask... What would you do different when Lock Down 2 comes about..??
Pretty much many peoples thinking being, since it was done once, it will be done again over something.. When, what over, how long, instigated by whom, are subjects for other threads..
To me, many seem on the right track, with restrictions lifting, do dentist, eye glasses, meds ahead of time, get car service done, all manor of things that need caught up on.. Making lists of "what worked", "What didn't work" "what to restock", "what to restock more of" .... Lists and questions like this..
In many ways, to us here in the far north... This all sounds like routing "summer".... But that is a different thread also..
Then you have the ones who state.... (red neck voice) All I need is more ammo..... Ammo is important, but not the only thing to think about, in my opinion...
I guess for us, my thought is to make a sort of spread sheet of things used to replace, then decide to replace these items by 110%, 120% and like decisions.. For instance.. Ammo isn't a big concern on my list, but a couple extra chain saw chains, air cleaner element, and spark plug are..
For me, 20lb propane bottles are the easiest to get used and exchanged for in date, full tanks.. This size is easiest for me to handle, refil, store and use than bigger 40lb or 100lb tanks..
What would you do different or want in place WHEN..... Lock Down 2 comes..
Facts, details, thoughts, comments ??

You mean something besides more Toilet Paper ? ? I was thinking of starting a thread like this after things got more back to whatever 'normal' is going to be... Like you said, this happened once, I see no reason to think it won't happen again, perhaps as early as this coming Fall. I think a post mortem on how this played out, what worked and what didn't, plus all things you mentioned would be very prudent by all of us. Since this ain't over yet, for me it's too early to tell. So far things are going along just fine. For now. brew

Honestly here I didn’t see much of a change. Still a lot of traffic on the roads and stores still filled. Only difference is a lot of little shops were closed, no beauty shops, and of course no eat in restaurants. I had to go to Lowe’s Sunday and it was Packed with a big line of ppl waiting to get in by the time I got checked out.

Consider a bank holiday, No banks opened. Will stores open? No credit card, debit card, or snap card will work if the banking industry has to shut down for any length of time. They might do like they did in Cyprus and allow 40 dollars a day to be withdrawn. Then again they may not. Will people go to work if they don't know when they will be paid? If stores are open they will only accept cash. How many now have cash? I see that right now most of the people who come through my line use credit or debit. Some where between 2/3 and 3/4 use the card. A visitor from Indiana came up here and discovered our toll-booths take cash, they didn't have any. They said where they live no one uses cash. If something like this were to happen it would make this lock down look like a beach party.

I am concerned about the impending time when no one will accept cash, despite the fact that each bill is printed with "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private."
Hard goods are the concern here. That and finishing the house. Some details like rewiring the well so it will work off a gen. Also, a French press and a more functional coffee grinder.

Some of our businesses aren't taking cash right now. That was disturbing.

The next wave may be as we open the country up or it may be during flu season. If the latter, it will be in the late fall, winter and very early spring. That means warm, well fed and dry.
Plan along those lines...

The paper currency of this country clearly states, "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private."
Seems clear cut to me, but who am I? Just a peon...

What worries me is that there are still some things that aren't available, like hand sanitizer, isopropryl alcohol, disinfectants, paper goods (altho those are just beginning to become more available). If the next wave happens due to reopening, things are gonna get dicey. Another thing that kinda worries me is that, despite the numbers being put out by the county health dept (17 hospitalizations), some local hospital employees are saying that they're seeing a spike in cases.....to the point that the hospital is designating another floor for covid patients. Now, I don't know how many they allow per floor but that's unnerving. We haven't restocked from the 1st lockdown, I'd hate to think how bad it could get if we have to go into another one soon. This image is from a Fox News story this morning; people protesting in the states that haven't yet announced reopening plans. Notice how many people there are, how close they are to each other & how many are wearing masks. DD said she went to WM yesterday and it was business as usual. She was one of maybe 10% of people who were wearing masks.

This was just a trial run for the BIG lockdown and new laws that will be coming world wide. The no cash policy has been in the works for years and if you want details on what's in your future, the last book of the bible is a good place to start.
Revelation 13:16-17 King James Version (KJV)
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

This was just a trial run for the BIG lockdown and new laws that will be coming world wide. Because when Trump, Xi, Putin, Merkel, Johnson, Trudeau, and Macron all gather at their G7+ meetings, what they are really talking about is how to finally gain power over Farmerbrown? Even if they have to shut down all the economies of the world, they will find a way to finally defeat their awesome foe?

So, what we are doing differently- -We are going to invest in a newer, more reliable 2nd freezer. We have one we got for $20 at an auction. Twice the freezing unit has frozen up and we've had to empty, defrost and 'save the meat.' Enough of that. -invested in even more canning jars, wide mouth pints. I'm canning more meat. -now have a list of pediatric essentials. I was scrambling when DGD got moved 'to the country' to live with us to stay safer than where either mom or dad (DS2) live. Been there, done that - got me a list so if it happens again, one trip or Amazon order to get it all. My seeds were disorganized and sadly, many were too old and failed the germination tests. Tested everything, composted those that wouldn't germinate, ordered replacements. Planted additional perennial foods - more fruit trees, an asparagus patch and additional raised beds. -changed our eating habits to lower % protein and higher % fresh - will focus especially on fresh we can grow, bought a year's worth of local honey. For the most part, we have been fine with the lockdown but I figure I can always learn something, so trying to keep an adaptable, learning perspective. Nothing's perfect, but we can always inch forward.

Something like that, but they aren't after me specifically. Chapters 17, 18 and 19 is where that documentation is found. www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+17&version=KJVBasically for "lockdown 2" if any merchants are requiring the mark, they won't get any business from me. Maybe it's just a coincidence that everyone is getting used to having something on their hands and/or heads right now to enter a store...................?

If the Revelation scriptures are accurate chronologically, 1/3 of the earth's population has to die before the mark is initiated. We're not there....yet. There is much more that has to happen first; things will get much worse before the mark & the Beast is revealed. We're not there yet but definitely moving in that direction, quickly.
