Hey, just got a call that my middle son-in-law's dad (who is also a close friend) fell off a ladder this afternoon. He is in Arizona right now and all we know is they Life Flighted him to a hospital. We have no other info at all but I'm assuming it's not good. Just sitting here hoping to hear something soon.

While it usually isn't a good sign when they send the chopper for ya, on the bright side it's the quickest way to get to the best hospital and maybe it had something to do with availability of local ambulances and drivers and not necessarily because he's seriously hurt. We'll hope that's the case and pray for the best, either way.

Prayers he'll be alright.
I've always wondered if in some instances they call for Life Flight after checking the injured person's insurance coverage.

Thanks, we appreciate the prayers. Just talked to my daughter, no news and looks like we may not be getting any anytime soon. They won't let his wife go to the hospital, apparently aren't taking any phone calls and won't even call his wife to let her know if he's dead, alive or somewhere in between. 😠 The only bit of news we've had is that he was able to respond to the LifeFlight medics, this from a neighbor who saw it happen.
They are at an RV park in/near Quartzsite, AZ.

My son-in-law's sister in Alaska has a medical background and can be pretty pushy when she has to. She was finally able to get through to someone at the hospital. Their dad has a broken hip and also has some sort of injury over his rib cage they are very concerned about. Not good, but if those are the only injuries we will be grateful. They couldn't get any more info tonight, but if I know DSil's sister, she will get more info from them in the next few days.

wildhorseluvr, praying. These are particularly difficult times to have a medical emergency, especially for family & friends that get shut out. Looks like it was a good thing they flew him out to the hospital, so that's a praise.

Old folks and ladders do not mix.
When you get to be a certain age, bumbles don't bounce.

Father God, we ask you to hold wildhorseluvr's friend in your loving, healing arms. Give him healing, free him from pain, restore him to his loving family. Thank you, Lord, that we can bring all our cares to you in Jesus' name.

wildhorseluvr, he and all of you will be in my prayers. Ladders and old folks definitely don't mix! I have been banished from our ladders too, the combination of vertigo and osteopenia caused dh to put his foot down. It's annoying to have to ask for help but is definitely not worth a fall, especially now. One thing to consider everyone, many medications and conditions cause dizziness. Please consider your family and friends if stubbornness causes you to want to climb ladders. The hospital is the very last place to be right now.

DSil's dad has been in & out of the hospital, he's been having complications since the surgery. He and his wife were supposed to travel back up here for the summer but he's now been told he will either be in the hospital or rehab for another month. DSil is flying his sister down to Phoenix (enroute right now), she will stay there awhile with his mom, he's going to spend a couple days moving their RV closer to the hospital and helping his mom out.
Weather is pretty decent right now but prayers for a safe flight would be appreciated.
