Last nite my wife stayed with a sick friend, different neighbor this time. She's old, overweight, a smoker and her respiratory problems are acting up again. 15 minutes ago I called to check on things and they are on their way to the hospital. I'm on the way to town to meet my wife, go to the bank to deposit our $2400 check from Uncle Sam and take care of a few other things. The one fear this woman has is being alone and on a ventilator. You can probably see where this prayer request is going........
If you would put in a good word for Cindy (the neighbor) and don't forget to pray for all those I may come into contact with today. I think they are all gonna need it, lol. Thanks.

I'm sorry for Cindy - sounds like one of her worst nightmares is hovering on the edge of reality. Prayers for everyone involved.

God our Father, Cindy is in a scary place. We ask you to give her the calm and peace she needs to face this challenge, letting her know that you are always with her and that she is never alone. We ask also for your loving blessing on all with whom farmrbrown interacts today, letting him be a blessing as you continue to hold him in your loving arms.

Well, it must have worked, because I think everyone is doing as well as can be expected. Now y'all know why I put my trust my trust in Him when the chips are down. Cindy should be admitted by now, she certainly doesn't need to be at home in her condition. Probably pneumonia on top of a few other complications, that's about all we know at the moment. Becka and I are looking after her dogs for the next few days. No big deal, just go over to feed and let them out a few times a day. We'll try to get her kids up here to take the dogs home with them (2 border collies, brother and sister, about 7+ years old). It all hinges on how bad this is and how it takes for her to get well enough to come home. As for me, all I did was go for a ride with my wife to the bank and then move a newly delivered mattress inside a house. The next few days I'll be an errand boy/dog sitter and problem solver as things arise. It's the job I've trained for all my life.

Not a lot of money, if you look at how long those guys are in the hospital. Praying that your friend recovers quickly.

Not a lot of money, if you look at how long those guys are in the hospital. Praying that your friend recovers quickly. I hope she does too. My wife was right to take her. I heard her voice on one call yesterday over the car bluetooth. It sounded like she was being strangled, literally. You're right about the amount of money, I've seen a few ICU hospital bills over the years. They are almost as large as a small country's GDP! I'm a skeptic by nature and I would think it normal and necessary to screen every incoming patient for Covid right now especially with respiratory problems. But when I looked thru the gov't links on payment adjustments in the recent emergency funding bills just passed under the old criteria, your garden variety pneumonia case paid $5,000. They also added a 20% premium for all Covid cases and there's even more money for general hospital funding. Don't forget all these private labs doing the testing now too. You know better than most who owns those independent labs, right? It's sad to look thru a skeptics eyes but I can see plenty of financial incentive to tip the scales towards Covid diagnoses when a patient comes thru the doors.
