Especially Lewis! Edit: We all do well to remember we are called to be like those noble ones in Berea...who studied the scriptures daily to see if what they were being taught was so. If I can be so bold...I think a lot of the mess the churches have gotten themselves into is because they teach their people to be the opposite of Bereans...." Just believe what we teach you"! I grew up RC Just another thing we have in common!

I won't either, but I will point out that Jesus could not have been wrong about the timing of His return, because He didn't know it Himself. "But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." As for the other references of Daniel and the rest, I'll take His word for it. biblehub.com/kjv/matthew/24.htm

And he did give us a time indication (copied directly from your link): The lesson of the Fig Tree (Mark 13:28-31; Luke 21:29-33) 32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. AMEN!

A few bits of trivia related to the OP about the 7 churches mentioned in Revelation. A few years back I was looking into growing figs after finishing a particularly good jar of preserves one day. I didn't know if I could grow them here since they're usually more common in the Middle East, Mediterranean area, etc. Pollination was another thing I wanted to know about, whether I needed male and female or not. Anyway, Smyrna IS a type of fig and a good one too. Philadelphia (Greek for 'brotherly love') and Smyrna were the only 2 out of the 7 that He found no fault with in chapters 2 and 3. The other thing is a bit more cryptic and solely an observation of my own mind, not any sort of biblical teaching that I'm aware of, but it came to me during the night I spoke of 32 years ago. Starting with the 1st church, it seemed to have references in each one to an important person, in each millennium chronologically from Adam. At the time I wasn't learned enough to "fill in" all 7 and it wasn't important then or now, just interesting to me. www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+2&version=KJVEx: The 1st church left their "1st love" - Adam, who ignored what God told him about the Tree in the center of Eden and listened to Eve instead. The 3rd church - Moses The 4th - David The 6th - Christ

I was looking for a link but what I found was varied and sketchy, not exactly biblical and I didn't want to use them. Basically it's pretty simple as far as the bible is concerned, it's referenced in Isaiah too (Key of David). As far as what we've studied in our church, it's the genealogy of Jesus, which is the "key" to the House of David in prophecy. It documents His authority and fulfillment of prophecy. You'll note that there are 2 different accounts, 1 in Matthew and one in Luke. Matthew goes thru Joseph and Luke thru Mary. Knowing which is the direct bloodline (Mary) should tell you to pay attention to Luke AND it also goes all the way back to Adam which is the important part of the Key of David teaching. I'll elaborate later. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genealogy_of_JesusSince the beginning in Genesis, Satan has tried to stop or pollute the bloodline from Adam to Jesus hopelessly trying to prevent His birth, which ensured his fate. Even after He was born, he tried to kill Him, tempt Him or generally cause trouble.

Yes - just returned about midnight last night. My son had a fever last week and was tested for Covid. We went to our property Tuesday and worked until about 0900 Saturday, but never traveled about because we did not get his negative result until yesterday. So no way we could have tried to meet up with anyone, so didn't even mention/try. We wanted to keep strictly to ourselves this trip, just in case! Ozark county has only had two confirmed positives last I checked...and Douglas only a few more. We didn't want to spoil the party, in case our son was actually positive.

I have never yet spent the time needed to sort out (if that is even possible) the differences between Matthew's and Luke's genealogies...and the implications.

Our county was at 8 cases for a long time. Now we're suddenly at 12 and I can't help but wonder if these crowds of protesters from the cities brought us a gift. Maybe not, but if they keep coming it seems like they will cause an increase in cases sooner or later.

Mickey Carter at Landmark Baptist church in south Florida gospel 90.3 is preaching Revelations. Always interesting to hear the difference between different preachers But to remember God’s own word... No man not even the angels know the day or hour
