Excerpts below
COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOX19) - Gov. Mike DeWine on Wednesday said Ohio’s health orders will be removed effective June 2.
Restrictions will remain in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities, but all other health orders, including capacity limits, social distancing rules and the mask mandate, will end three weeks from Wednesday....
The move leaves to Ohio businesses and schools the decision of what rules to impose for the safety of their customers, employers and students, DeWine said. Lifting the health orders will not prevent a business from imposing its own requirements........
The move reflects a turnabout from April, when the governor announced a goal based on the state’s incident rate for lifting all health orders. That goal was set at of 50 cases per 100,000 residents over a two-week span. Currently, Ohio’s incident rate is 123 cases per 100,000 residents.
The governor’s hand was forced in part by Senate Bill 22, which allows Ohio lawmakers to override agency regulations in states of emergency. The bill passed by a supermajority over DeWine’s veto last month. It goes into effect June 23.

The small town of Nixa MO, just north of us by about 25 miles has officially rescinded their mask ordinance. I'd guess mainly because nobody paid any attention to it. Every store in town had signs on their doors telling customers to wear masks, but once inside it was plain the signs were ignored except for the poor employees and I'd guess Biden voters.
There wasn't any organized resistance, just the general attitude of the people in this area. That's not to say we didn't get some curious and hateful looks from masked people, but it's so nice to not wear a mask so I can sneer back at them.

DeWhine is just trying to make it look like it's his idea, instead of the legislature (finally!!!) taking the decision out of his hands. Man, I wish that the original plan had been to just sheild the vulnerable people, instead of completely destroying the economy and people's lives and mental health. If I'm still here when he runs again for governor he'd better be ready for a fight. People are pissed.
