Thoughts on this? Cash payments to homeless in NY city to be partially funded by taxpayers. dailycaller.com/2021/06/18/new-york-city-give-homeless-youth-money-each-month/******************************* The Trust Youth Initiative will give approximately 30-40 homeless New Yorkers between the ages of 18-24 $1,250 per month for up to two years to “build actionable evidence” about how to end youth homelessness. The initiative is placing a special emphasis on black, indigenous, latino and LGBTQ youth. **********************************

Money might seem to solve financial issues but cash without wisdom and value equal waste, drug death, and dependency

Exactly my thoughts! 1250 in NY isn’t paying rent. I read somewhere average rent there is like 2500.
That money is just gonna buy more drugs and alcohol.

I am against the nonsensical $1250.00 per month for a handful of homeless…coming out of some of my taxes! We are in deep doo-doos 💩 everything and everyone is going more crazy than ever.
Yes, I agree the monies will more than likely be used for drugs being sold by illegals that crossed over the border, to boot!

Have you ever heard of anything more predictable?
Hey, let's give $1250/month to people unable to manage their lives well enough to find a job, stay off drugs, or not be thrown out by their families, what a great idea.
Several cities have tried giving money to the "disadvantaged" with plans that were to run over a year, but they quit after six months when they saw the waste and fraud.
We'll give anyone a hand up, but never a handout.

When you consider what some folks have gone through to create that wealth it is enough to make you sick. I have been pretty lucky to enjoy most of my work in this life, but lots of others have worked from their early teens until they dropped at jobs they detested just to feed their families and honor their commitments, never getting ahead or even breaking even. God only knows how many die working while head over heels in debts they can never hope to pay off.
On the one hand, you got sick people working hard to buy drugs to keep them and their families alive and on the other hand you got government dweebs stealing money to give to people who are sitting on their ankles so they can buy drugs to keep themselves stoned......Joe

"special emphasis on black, indigenous, latino and LGBTQ youth." - Straight up discrimination.
Honestly, how far is $1250 going to go in NYC? Will it buy a car? Pay rent? Like others are saying, the only motivation I see is to buy more drugs/alcohol. Far easier to stay stoned than to go to work everyday.
