John thompson a state rep. was pulled over for no license plate on the front and excessive speed. He publicly accused the St. Paul police officer for racial profiling. He was a big one to push body cam footage to be released within 48 hrs. by the state in high profile cases, but in his case he was not interested in that, until St. Paul police dept. called him out on it. Ohh, and he had a wisconsin DL, and a suspended DL. It's a long video, But the first 2 min, and the last 3 min get you to the point. The rest of the body cam is the officer putting his info in the system . www.fox9.com/news/st-paul-police-release-body-cam-video-of-rep-john-thompsons-july-4-traffic-stop

When someone's drivers license is pulled for non-payment of child support it pretty much tells you everything you need to know about him.
I remember reading something about him addressing a protest saying they needed to burn that town down.
Just another chiseling race hustler.

There IS one kind of profiling that cops have found useful and I have no problem with.
When a guy jumps a turnstile to save a quarter riding the subway; When a guy urinates in public when a guy throws rocks through windows when a group of guys hang out on street corners disturbing the peace and threatening passers by when guys stalk women on the sidewalks and make them afraid to conduct their daily business alone;
THOSE are the same guys who do assaults on subways, rapes in alleys, break-ins and arsons wherever it suits them and murders as the mood strikes them.
Get rid of the one, you get rid of the other for the most part. Ignore misdemeanors at your peril, because the same people are those committing the felonies. Crack down on them and watch the felony rate drop as they move to other locations......Joe

joebill, it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to take walks alone, at night. As a stay at home Mom, sometimes that is my quiet time. Yet now, officers make remarks regarding the "suitability" of mothers taking walks alone at night, as if we shouldn't do so, because we are at risk. Here's a thought, how about if everyone is free to walk around their neighborhood, and everyone feels safe?

Or how's about every lady is able to carry a gun or at worst a knife and knows how to use it to best effect? With no fear of reprisal from the cops?...Joe

With no fear of reprisal from the cops?...Joe How about forgetting the knife and go with a good, solid cane, preferably wood. If I can use a wooden cane to keep a 1000+# bovine in line I should be able to clock a prep upside the head. Who's going to question an older female with knee scars about toting around a nice wooden cane? Further reach with the cane than a knife. Who brings a knife to a gun fight and who brings a knife to a cane fight? Not sure if you could use one of those swords inside the cane, if they are even legal.

A CCW and a gun is pretty simple too.

CCW not available in my state unless I run a business or have to carry large amounts of cash. Of course that doesn't stop the bad guys from carrying a gun whenever they want.

No question that while the sword was known variously as the prince or queen of weapons on the battlefield, the spear or lance was KING!
Other than a gun, nothing is more suitable, for instance, in keeping nasty dogs from attacking a pedestrian...more than a single time. The only drawback is that they are useful strictly for attacking, NOT for threatening. You have to thrust hard and fast with them before your attacker is near enough to grab it.
If I get the shop built and go back into making more knives, I think I should also make some spear points with easy attaching systems.....Joe

The old chant... Who's your best buddy..... Bayonet.... What do you do with that ?...... Stick um...

It's called "slipping your cuffs". You walk backwards over the center link binding your wrists together and then they are bound together in front of you, making you able to do most stuff you could do if you were not wearing cuffs. The hard part is if you can only get the link as far as the bottoms of your shoes and no further. It CAN compress your lungs on your knees so bad you can't breathe. When my daughter went through Junior cop camp one of the lads wore a cuff key on a cord around his neck hanging over his butt. After he had used it once to foil the instructor during an exercise, the teacher hiked it up a foot and tied another knot in the cord. The whole class rolled all over one another for an hour trying to get to it, then got to run laps for the attempted escape ....Joe
