This is a Logos translation of John, with some explanatory notes. John is considered the most evangelical of the Gospels by many. One of the local churches has handed out 30,000 of this pamphlet. If you like looking at, or comparing translations, check out this translation of John: www.livingwater.org/booklet/files/index.html

I tracked down the Alexandrian Bible. The reason I did this is around the second century the book of John followed two different paths. One went to Egypt and one copy went to Greece and on to Rome. Our copy comes from Greece. I was checking out John 6:4. In our copy it says that it was" the Passover, feast of the Jews." Which seemed redundant to me. In the Alexandria Bible it says just it was "a feast of the Jews." Seems like a small change. I read where some think Christ's ministry was a year in length, actually 70 weeks they said, but I concluded 69 weeks myself, with one week yet to be fulfilled. (a dual prophecy in Daniel) Either way this verse implied at least a minimum of two full years. If in fact this verse was mistranslated and it was only a feast of the Jews not a passover it would confirm the 1 year hypothisis. For if you follow the harmony of the Gosples it makes complete sense if it were only a year, this verse was the only thing standing in the way of that theory. And as I found it is different in the two different lines of the book of John. So it is completely plausable that his minsitry was 69 weeks. His baptism at a day or two after the Jewish tree birthday festival through the first Passover to the next Passover then to the time he was caught into heaven before Pentecost. That year was a year where the Jews added and extra month to the calander which they did periodically to keep the calander correct. He started his ministry by a reading which included the phrase "and acceptable year of the lord" The idea of a 3 1/2 year ministry came fom a misinterpetation of a verse in Daniel. So I have now concluded that it looks like a 1 year ministry Passover to Passover plus a few weeks before and after. Attachment Deleted40 days and approximately a week later you find him at the wedding where he made water into wine. which was at the beginning of the month of the Passover. All interesting but not critical, but your posting of the book of John reminded me of this information.
