I didn't ask for prayer requests this weekend publicly but Friday after noon at 3pm. I stopped what I was doing and begged The Father directly for help in returning my dogs home. The big one came home 2 hours later for supper and this morning at 9 am. the little one was scooped up by wife 400 yards from here and is sleeping on the couch beside me now. There is more to the story than that, the big boy and I spent the last 2 days tracking his little brother down and leaving a scent trail to "help", but the main thing I wanted to say......on my knees.....was THANK YOU LORD!
amen

So happy to hear your prayers were answered. (Wish you would have put out a prayer request here though.)
Some years back my deaf and nearly blind 18 yr old Schnauzer mix disappeared early one morning. It was a very hot summer day and we also live on a busy road, there are coyotes around, owls, and there’s a canal nearby among other dangers. Not a good situation. I spent the entire day searching, making phone calls, going door to door at neighboring farms, searching the ditches along the road. And yeah, praying.
In the evening just about dusk, I was feeling pretty down as I didn’t think she would ever survive a night out there. I asked God once again to please bring her home before dark. Literally minutes later my DH looked out across the pasture, jumped over the fence and took off running. He had seen something moving halfway across the field. It was my little dog, sniffing the air, walking at a snail’s pace in circles, but headed home. She had apparently followed my DH across the fields that morning as he went to feed horses in another pasture, then couldn’t find her way home. I’m guessing enough breeze came up that she could smell home and was able to determine which direction to go.
Some would call it coincidence, but there are a lot more coincidences when I pray.

TBH, I didn't post here on Friday for two reasons. 1) The main reason, I was too busy in "action mode" because the 1st 48 hours are critical and my big dog and I had a lot of ground to cover quickly while the scents were still fresh and no rain for a few days forecasted. He's pretty smart and understood what I wanted him to do and why. So we started from home and he led me, retracing their steps the next day, Saturday. Sunday, I went to the OTHER side of the mountain and worked back towards home, looking for tracks, leaving his scent and talking to a few people along the way. 2) When my wife texted me late Friday it said, "Start praying, both dogs are missing." We're always in agreement at times like that and this verse immediately comes to mind every time. Extra help is definitely appreciated, but when Neve (big boy) walked up 2 hours later, right on time for supper, I was SURE God heard us and was already on the job. LOL I rarely ask Him for anything more than once, then I proceed to doing my part, carrying on like a man without a doubt in his mind. Easy to say but HARD to do, but the rewards are more than I deserve. About sundown last night (Sunday) we got a call from a guy across the creek and down the road a bit, near where Neve spent a lot of times circling, sniffing and marking. He's building a 2nd house on the lot next to his and doesn't have the doors on yet. He walked in and found a little brown Pit mix had claimed the living room as his, LOL. He backed out and called another neighbor who called us because my wife had put the word out. There ARE still good people out there ready to lend a hand and I'm thankful for THAT too. However, our little boy had run off, scared I guess, and was gone when we got there 30 minutes later, nowhere to be found. So about 9 pm last nite I went back over to the unfinished house with Shiloh's blanket he sleeps on, still uncertain that he was the one the neighbor had spotted. But I left it in there against the wall and by God, my wife found him sleeping in there this morning and brought his prodigal butt home! I know a few people might wonder why he didn't come home when he was so close? (NO, I don't beat the boy, lol) My only explanation is, like all our kids, some are Valedictorian and some ride the 'short bus' but no matter what, we love them all. That's why I teach his big brother to look out for him and he did his part to help too. I'm so thankful I've been about to burst all day. One big happy family....... Attachment Deleted
