My dear Grandmother fell tonight and broke her hip. She is very frail and prone to pneumonia. I will keep you updated as I find out more. Thank you so much.

I just talked to my Grandma, she is in a lot of pain but is still herself. She is getting surgery tomorrow, please pray that God will guide the Dr and nurse's hands :-)

She is getting surgery tomorrow, please pray that God will guide the Dr and nurse's hands :-) God our Father, thank you for the care that Grandma is receiving. Thank you that she is in a safe place, with loving hands and hearts. We ask that you will give wisdom, insight, and skill to the medical team as they perform surgery. Please bless Grandma with quick healing, and surround the whole family with your loving peace. Above all, we thank you that we can bring all our cares to you in Jesus' name.

I will certainly pray for her. My 85 year old sister just went through this, breaking her hip, having surgery, recovery at the hospital then going to a rehab facility. She had never had anything wrong with her and had never had anesthesia or surgery before. She has done extremely well and came home 2 days ago. I pray that your grandmother will do as well as my sister has. She has a walker now and she is able to go all over the house with it.

Great news. Sounds like she is off to a good start. I know a lady here who broke her hip a few days after her 100th birthday and was up and about pretty quickly after surgery. I hope your grandma fares the same.

Yes, she got out of bed for awhile today, and she ate a good supper. The hospital food is pretty good, I was surprised!

She is doing well, she is still having pain but is eating better and sounds great! She seems to have more energy than usual, probably because she was not eating well before. My sisters and cousins and I all take turns calling and visiting so she doesn't get bored-I set up a group text between all of us so we can update each other on plans to visit and call. It works really well, and one of the CNA's said she gets more calls and visits than she has ever seen, lol. There are 10 of us and we all have kids now. We wanted to set up a plan so that she had visitors consistently and not just at the beginning.
