Question for those who use trail cams...

I think I need to get 1 or 2 but there won't be any artificial lighting at night, just the moon and stars. It also needs to be high resolution, good enough to get a clear picture of a person's face if possible.
As you might have guessed I'm going hunting for thieves, lol.
Any suggestions on what model would work best?

One thing to look at when comparing units is the reaction time. Some are fairly slow to click the picture after it senses movement and can miss the person/animal if they're moving quickly.

I've been happy with our years old Simmons, but I'm sure there are better ones out there by now. One thing I've found is they don't do a great job on license plates at night with their flash. They seem to flare back and are unreadable.

Yeah, I'm still looking at specific features. One thing I don't want is a Flash, so it needs to be night vision only or able to film day or night if possible without flash.
IOW, I need to see them without them ever seeing they're on camera.
My next step is a GPS tracking device and they're cheaper than I expected. Once they take the bait, it's gonna be hard for me to lose the trail, I hope.
