Last year we picked up some PUR canning lids at Ace Hardware thinking they were made in the USA. So far, we are seeing about 50% buckled lids. We have never used this brand in the past and seen very few failures with Ball and Keer lids.

There's way too much work canning to lose half of it.

We have never used this brand in the past and seen very few failures with Ball and Keer lids. The only ones that I know of that are for sure made in the USA are Superb out of Ohio. Excellent heavy lids. Lehman’s sells them but they’re expensive. You could get them cheaper at Berlin seed. They do not have a site you have to call them and I no longer have the number but when you look it up you’ll find them. I am on 3 safe Canning Sites on Facebook and each one of them have lids they prefer. Some people still think Ball are good. I have varied results with Ball but I bought a ton of them during Covid. I was having great results with Uline until the last couple times 1 out of 5-7 didn’t seal!

solargeek , Yep, we waited several months for our back=order for Lehman's lids. We bought several hundred, and if memory serves the sent an extra tube graciously thanking us for waiting. Haven't had a failure so far with their lids.
Our biggest problem canning is using the old jars we bought from a couple in Kansas a few years ago. I use a standard lid to check the neck size, as some older jars are slightly off sized. If the standard lid doesn't seat properly, we use Tattler lids that have a wider sealing ring.
As a side note, Tattler lids need an entirely different method than standard metal lids. You finger tighten them just like regular lids, then back the ring off a quarter turn. When you take them out of the canner you tighten them down hard and let them cool.

The Uline lids that I've used (bought in 2020 or 21) sealed fine for me. The problem I've had with them is this...I always wipe off the lid after canning to get any stickiness off of them. I wrap my hand over the top of the jar and twist a damp cloth around the lid. Well the Uline lids are sharp little buggers and gave my fingers a nice batch of tiny cuts where ever my fingers touched the lids.
