Felecia Darling told WLBT-TV she began recording after the boy’s mother entered the Byram store and put him in a cold shopping basket only wearing a diaper. The station in a previous story said the incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 17. Darling added to WLBT that she took off her black coat and put it on the toddler after several shoppers approached the boy’s mother. “You’re a mother, a child represents you,” Darling noted to the station. “And if you come in the store fully clothed, and your son is not, that shows a lot about your character and that shows a lot that you don’t care. How could you come in Walmart fully dressed knowing it’s a lot of people watching you? She probably thought nobody was going to step up, but, you know, we did.” Video shows the mother tossing a bag of frozen items just in front of the toddler, who was seated in the main part of the cart. more at link *Some people should never have children. And WalMart should be ashamed of this.

Hmmm, I seem to remember Walmart giving millions to Black Lives Matter. I guess not all black lives matter to them after all.

Hmmm, I seem to remember Walmart giving millions to Black Lives Matter. I guess not all black lives matter to them after all. For sure. Apparently they’re more concerned about not offending their customers than they are the health of a baby. I saw that same situation many years ago, can’t remember for certain but pretty sure it was also a WalMart. Woman going into the store (winter time), she was wearing a heavy coat, boots, etc. Bitter cold in central Oregon. Baby under a year old was dressed in a diaper and maybe a t-shirt, nothing else, no shoes or socks, no blanket wrapped around him, nothing. 😡 Apparently these people have no brains or no soul.

I'm looking at this story a little differently now. The employee did right by helping the baby and videoing the situation. What she did wrong was posting it our on social media. That was probably against store policy and also had the child's image out there for everyone and anyone to see.

Not a big issue. The rules were most likely in a company policy she signed at hire and forgot.
Mrs.Fixit works at a casino. She has a ton of policies she has to follow. Social media is A HUGE one. She gets to interact with a lot of celebrities all year long, getting a selfie with them will get you canned.

The bigger issue is did anyone call CPS? Failure to report is a crime.

The bigger issue is did anyone call CPS? Failure to report is a crime. Yes. In the link: Police charged the mother, Kambria Darby, with child neglect, WLBT noted, adding that she was booked and processed at the Hinds County Detention Center on bond conditions the county Youth Court ordered. The station also reported that Child Protective Services got involved and later released the toddler to an approved relative. Everything seems to be a 'crime' these days.

Not protecting innocent children is 100% a crime. 100% of the time.

They did everything that needed doing, seems like. But she shouldn't have put it out on social media.
