It's hard to believe Russia would attack a NATO ally. They have more than their hands full in Ukraine already. I can't see any advantage or gain for Russia to provoke armed conflict elsewhere.
I've been wrong before, but I can't make sense of an impending Russian strike on Poland. Could all this sword rattling we've heard over the past month be an attempt to force Russia to divert men and materials away from Ukraine?

The current meat grinder for Adiivka shows 13 Russians killed for every Ukrainian. In that battle space, the Russians are losing 14 vehicles (armored and unarmored) for each Ukrainian vehicle lost.
Even in the failed (10 mile advance total) Ukrainian offensive, the Ukraine and Russian losses were equal.
This is not normal. Military schools have long taught that for a offensive effort to succeed, the casualty rate will be 3:1. The Ukranians lost less than that while on the offensive and the Russians are losing a lot more than the usual ratio in their current offensive.
That leaves a lot of room for thought and analysis.

I'm obviously not an unbiased commenter, I believe Russia's invasion of Ukraine was entirely uncalled for in a civilized world no matter the BS propaganda about Nazis and the supposed killing of Russian speakers in Donbass.
If Russia was to be believed, the Ukrainian people yearned to once again be part of Russia, and only the Nazi dictator Zelensky was forcing them to fight. Funny though, those poor "forced" Ukrainians have been fighting for independence from Russia for over two years now, with great success against a greatly superior number of Russian troops. Maybe that Russian propaganda trope doesn't hold water.
When a country has to free convicts to fill out their army, and enlist people with no military experience, then send them off will little training and even less equipment, that country might not be the ferocious tiger they've been purported to be.
Look back through Russian history, including the world wars, and find even one instance where the common soldier was valued beyond a number. Heck, in the celebrated tank battle of Kursk in WWII the German forces killed four times their numbers, but the Russian numbers overcame them.
Without nuclear weapons Russia would be a pimple on the world's butt militarily. The Russian people now they mean nothing to their government when it comes to military actions.
It's sad that just through numerical superiority Russia will eventually win in Ukraine through attrition. But what will they have won? A populace that hates them, with an infrastructure in ruins.
