Most sane people said it was not financially sound from the start and they were right. This WSJ article shows the abysmal numbers and says it will have to be addressed by the legislature again in 2017 no matter who is elected president. www.wsj.com/articles/the-decline-of-obamacare-1445807092

It was never meant to succeed. It was meant to get governments foot in the door long enough to convince people the only answer is single payer like Canada/UK/EU.

I read someplace Ocare was designed to show higher consumer spending numbers so the world would think tour economy was doing great . Never ever get the idea any Gov give a hoot about anything other than money and power for their own elite bunch

Government spending is certainly one component figured into our GDP.

Important www.irs.gov/pub/irs-access/f8965_accessible.pdfwww.healthcare.gov/fees-exem...-from-the-fee/Income-related exemptions The lowest-priced coverage available to you, through either a Marketplace or job-based plan, would cost more than 8.05% of your household income You don’t have to file a tax return because your income is below the level that requires you to file Health coverage-related exemptions You were uninsured for no more than 2 consecutive months of the year You lived in a state that didn’t expand its Medicaid program but you would have qualified if it had Group membership exemptions You’re a member of a federally recognized tribe or eligible for services through an Indian Health Services provider You’re a member of a recognized health care sharing ministry You’re a member of a recognized religious sect with religious objections to insurance, including Social Security and Medicare Other exemptions You’re incarcerated (serving a term in prison or jail) You’re a U.S. citizen living abroad, a certain type of non-citizen, or not lawfully present (learn more about the definition of “lawfully present”) You experienced one of the hardships below 2015 hardship exemptions and forms In addition to the exemptions above, you may qualify for a “hardship” exemption for 2015. Hardships are life situations that keep you from getting health insurance. Fyi copy all the irs forms see if you are exempt.. keep your proof. Here is the important info ... the healthcare exemption is not being pushed by the government in their education update to their agents... I drop off forms and share the info.

Seeing as how we are discussing obamacare. Maybe you all can give me some advise.
I missed the deadline on our health ins signup at work. Its myown fault I suppose, but we have a new HR lady who didn't explain very well when the sign up date was going to be. So,,,, in the mean time, I just got out of the hospital after taking some tests as to why I am having such serious stomach pains. The biopsy isn't back yet, but the Drs are concerned about cancer. They have told me absolutely no DR would touch me without health ins of some kind.
Wednesday, I have an appointment with the Dr's to discuss options, one of them being obamacare, which the signup date starts Nov. 1st.
Is it really worth signing up for something that I feel is totally worthless???

It's got to be scary.. cancer is always a worry..do look into it. Get your results go from there.. look at everything.
I look at my age and where I as in life... very few things need to be done. The boy is raised I don't fear death.. you might be in a different place.
But most import.... your are not alone ....People care.

In your situation it might be worthwhile to sign up. For most people the plans are expensive for what they'll get - high deductibles & co-pays, but then most people don't have the possibility that you're presented with. A $5,000 deductible with a 20% co-pay to $10,000 could in some instances be a bargain. If it were me, I'd go for the lowest out of pocket I could afford.
Wishing you luck, with prayers attached, for your test results.
