The next time a progressive tells you socialism works, just point to Germany, Sweden, Greece, the Netherlands and the rest of Europe which is failing in the global economy.
In this new study, it turns out that if European countries were to become states in America, they’d be among the poorest in the country, even surpassing Mississippi. www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/10/study-if-sweden-and-germany-became-us-states-theyd-be-among-poorest-in-the-country/

They don't even get into the tax rates Europeans pay to get all that "free" stuff. I guess I missed this on NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and the NYT

That's what's totally amazing to me; nobody can show a socialist system that has worked, ever. But people still sing it's praises and try to justify it here. It scares me how blind and mindless people have become.

The main flaw in socialism is human nature. We're genetically wired to do what's best for us and ours first. Human nature can't be legislated or regulated, it can be suppressed, but only officially. Look to any totalitarian society and you'll find a thriving underground economy. The rulers can't stop it, and wouldn't if they could. In some countries the underground economy is the only thing keeping them from revolution.

Here is socialism at its finest. 4 years ago I moved my mother in law into my shop office after remodeling it. I don't have a business anymore anyway. She couldn't make it on SS. She chipped in gratefully by helping clean house and cooking and such. She even bought a few groceries from time to time. A year and a half ago I let my brother in law move in (same reason) and he helped out in the garden and yard work and livestock. This was a socialist utopia.
Today I get nothing out of my MIL but gripping and when will her food be ready and my BIL pawned my Echo weedeater, blower and chainsaw for Xanex. sheesh
Yeah, even on a small scale it sucks. It never works because someone will always want more and someone has to give more for them to get it. Not enough grease to go around for the squeaky wheels.

Yep, the subject of human nature usually stops 'em in their tracks. They can't argue against that point. But it still doesn't sway them in their utopian quest. Crazy.

When they reject both common sense and history, their rationalization is always "They just didn't do it right before, we'll do it right this time".

When they reject both common sense and history, their rationalization is always "They just didn't do it right before, we'll do it right this time". I actually heard Valerie Jarrett say that in an interview right after Obama was elected the first time. She said the tricky part was not to take so much from other people that they lose the incentive to work. She was with 1 or 2 other people and they were nodding their heads in agreement. That was pretty clear to me.
