As most of you know, I'm a political junkie. But, American Pickers had a new episode on, and they won.
If you watched, what was your impression?

I had no idea that either Mike or Frank were running...... or for that matter, even Danielle, but ALL of them are infinitely more qualified than Hillary ever will be!!

Well, I watched it. I'm not sure why they call it debate when it's multiple folks, and moderator questions. I think better term is "forum." Anyhow, Kasich bugged the heck out of me interrupting at every turn. And he always appears to be on speed or something, jumpy, agitated, and I just don't relate well with him at all. Otherwise, they all did pretty well, except I think Jeb showed really faltering.
It was more like the candidates vs. the moderators sometimes. The CNBC mods got made to look fools several times. They got boo'd several times, audience reacting to just bold silly trying to stir up gossip, anger, and fighting on stage. Not only did the audience boo, but several candidates put them in their place as well.
Rand Paul says he will be on the floor filibustering tomorrow about the debt ceiling.
Jeb is just not a factor. Wish he would get out and allow more time for the others in these things.
I'm still undecided. I will not vote for Jeb or Kasich out of this crowd.
I watched most of the early one too. I like something about Jindal I can't put my finger on, but I am not excited about any one person in the whole shebang just yet.
I have a top 4 or so. Wish I could mush them together.

Christie actually did well too but he is too much of a flip flopper for me. Kasich was a jerk as usual. Bush may well be out by next debate or shortly after unless Trump and Carson implode. Carson was, well, he was Carson. Fiorina is toast but she may be a good VP choice to counter Hillary's gender edge. Trump was lower key than usual but had some good lines and will likely remain the leader.

Interesting idea talking to a friend yesterday. He said he thinks we are at a point in this country where we need to have 2 officers, one an economic pres, and one a foreign affairs pres. That would be interesting.

That would be interesting. Interesting idea but I don't think it would help. Seems to me the country has become ungovernable. Congress has ceded its authority to the president over the years to the point we are nearing a dictatorship. Obama tells Congress what he wants and they fold and give it to him. That's not much different than countries where the dictator rules and the parliament ( or whatever they decide to call it) is just there for show.

Which is why poppy we need a constitutionalist..Cruz and we need gonads, and and equal portion of polite decorum with intellectual intersect.
We need to merge Cruz, Carson and trump.
Trumps has worked with both of these men since the election.

And I think the dictator (or Hillary, the wannabe dictator) told CNBC what they wanted tonight, and it backfired. I just had a funny thought that Christie should be the white house spokesperson for the incoming repub admin! Can you see him doing all those press things LOL!

You're likely right. I'm sure CNBC talked with Clinton's people in preparing for the debate. One thing is obvious to me. Unless we elect either Cruz or one of the outsiders, nothing will change at all. Bush, Kasich, Rubio, and the rest are just slightly different versions of what we have now. They are making promises they know they will never fulfill and none of them have the backbone to stand up for what's right.

I watched. I have a top 3 after tonight, but have reservations about all. Need to do more research and watch how they progress. I did like Rubio's slams on the PC media tho. I think he made some good points. I still like Trump's boldness. We need someone who lays it out there instead of all the double talk and bs that we hear so much of.

I watched the clip of Cruz ripping the moderators, and when he reeled of the list of stupid questions to each candidate I thought "wow, what a memory!" When I was telling my wife about it she said he's got an "audiographic" memory. He remembers everything he's heard, which is why he was such a great debater in college. That's also how he tears opponents arguments apart when they vary even slightly from their position or statements in the past.

........Jeb Bush , Kasich , Rubio , if they were to be elected would spend most of their time listening to lobbyists from the major corps. and big money guys to whom they are beholden . Voters would always be last in the political pecking order because the system is rigged that way . ........Were Trump to be elected there is no doubt he would spend Lots of time socializing with lobbyists , regardless of his lip service to the contrary ! After all , he spent LOTS of his money bribing all the major politicans before he decided to run for Prez . Isn't that what Billionaires.......Do ? ........Carson , analytically , and morally would be the best candidate to be our President . Carson , as a surgeon , in the operating room was there to save the life of every child he operated on because he was functioning with both his heart and his head which means he , is a better human being that all the rest of the candidates currently running . .......Christy , being from New Jersey , is a graduate OF the Mafia School of Management and Politics , and , hopefully will never be elected to anything other than Garbage Collector once his term in office is up ! I can'T stand the sight of the man nor listen to his loud mouth . .......Cruz , is brilliant and would make an excellent President , but I don't think he is electable........because I don't think he can attract enough conservative Dem's and moderates to win an election ! I wish it were otherwise . , fordy

I saw some lawyer/professor, Alan Dershowitz IIRC , say he taught Cruz in college and he was the most intelligent student he ever had. The lawyer/professor was a liberal too. That says a lot.
