On my place in Ozark County.
Was halfway down out of the tree, dark as coal, when I hear a sounder coming through the woods.
Scramble back up the tree, pull my rifle up by the cord and get it loaded just in time to put a round down range.
I could just barely make out the outline of the pig in the dark. Fortunately I have a fire-dot reticle, because I could not see the crosshairs.

I've heard we have them over here in Stone County, but in 15 years haven't seen one. A neighbor who's lived here his entire 79 years says he's talked to people who've seen mountain lions, bears, and hogs, but he hasn't seen any either. I guess you have to be in the right place at the right time.
Good shooting!

...........In Tx , you can pay $1,000 per person , and they'll fly you around in a helicopter with Ar-15's and all the ammo you need ! There is an AM hunt and a PM hunt . Friend , is planning on taking both his son and son in law on a day hunt . Several very good vids on Utube show the action . , fordy

Dang! That is one big piggie! Did you butcher it out? Yes. Fortunately it got down to 32 degrees that night, so we hung her in a tree (gutted of course) overnight, then skinned and butchered in the morning.

Thought of your wild piggie today.
Went walking with the flerd, and saw some unusual scat. Thought for a moment that it was hog.
Turned out one of the sheep got hold of too much green graze.

Actually, it went "home" to Wisconsin.
I let my best bud from high school take it home with him.

I was killing Hogs until MDC put a stop to it couple years ago. Said hunters were scattering them so they couldn't trap them.

We have the Javelina here.....game animals.....and my SIL took a trip to Texas for a couple of days feral hog hunting...no charge and you get to keep your kills. He stressed that he had to skin them because the hide is full of all sorts of vermin, but the meat was good.
The now famous video of Ted Nugent with a full auto and a chopper;
some of what those hogs do to crops and a Britt shooting them from a chopper "I LOVE TEXAS" he says
Pretty much all-out war between the ranchers and the hogs. Lotsa free meat out there, but I hope they keep them there. I'll pass on the free meat. Rather keep what little vegetation we have.....Joe
