Boston school banned senior head cheerleader from cheering because people don't like her political tweet response to her teacher who assigned students to participate in viewing political debate.

I call that a straw man punishment.

I think they taught the lesson they truly intended, "get on board or we'll strong arm you, to shut you up and comply".

Yuck.

So, so true.... I have been saying for years the pc=public control..... public censorship..... 

Really hit home to me when females not doing the same work complained about wage differences and seemed blind to the fact that women doing the same job did get the same wage.

And witnessing a male get dress down for..... shockingly saying.... ma'am, coffee when you get a chance. to a female waitress.... it was pure evil and the man took it .....I would have.....walked, and called the owner.  I don't often leave no tip but that was one time I did.

A student made a disparaging comment on social media about illegal immigrants and the student was on a field trip when it happened,” said Supt. Dianne Kelly. “There are a number of kids at the high school whose parents are illegal immigrants and were offended. .... The situation started after the Revere City Election last Tuesday, when on the next day a civics teacher sent out a Tweet to students about how low voter turnout had been. The Tweet was meant to challenge the students about what low voter turnout means and perhaps why it happened in Revere. The official turnout for the Revere election was approximately 40 percent.

In response to the Tweet, the student responded back that it was because much of Revere’s population is illegal immigrants who cannot vote. ...Kelly said that part of the solution is to develop the new curriculum for freshmen, and the other part was to hold the student accountable for his or her actions.... Kelly said teachers have, coincidentally, been going through a similar training for cultural sensitivity, and they would be able to bring that teaching to the table to help the new program.

Let's talk about sensitivity. Deport these illegals. Teachers need training on on U. S. CITIZENSHIP and how to contact ICE to get these illegals deported ASAP. ..... After what happened in Paris on Friday, maybe Revere needs to get a clue. Offended? I'm offended I have to support people who broke the law and walked into MY country. Yes "my"country. I agree with that commentor.

One they pulled a Lois Lerner. No comment means no comment, not dangle the phrase, "we can't discuss the details, but we have other problems with her.". How can she defend herself from that insinuation?

Two, it was an ignorant comment. The teachable moment could have easily been to explain the difference between voting population vs general population.

And, now this kid gets to have this be one of the things that Google pops up when searching her name indefinitely.

Yes it is clear punishment for not being PC. What was racist about her tweet? Nothing that I saw. Nothing to take offense if simply speaking the truth. Oh, but how we hate the Truth!
