It is extremely rude to take such a spot from someone that needs it. A few years ago my younger sister broke her foot so badly that it required 3 surgeries. I did all of her driving, and it was so hard when there were no spots close by. It caused much unneeded suffering for her.

I loved the holographic technology that created such a gadget, but am appalled that their signs are still painted on the pavement. (What happens in a Russian winter when they're buried under a meter or more of ice and snow and can't be seen?) Most municipalities across the U.S., require both signs on the pavement, as well as on a sign post immediately in front of the parking spot, with the sign at a certain designated distance from the ground. If they are not meeting those requirements, than in many cases, it can be appealed and tossed out of court. Case in point, when I was in law enforcement, many times I would get called out to a private business where such a transgression had allegedly occurred, and either the property owner or an outraged citizen would DEMAND that I issue a citation to the offending party. I had to explain to them under both the state and municipal statutes, that I could not unless the site met those above listed stipulations. Most store owners didn't want to go to the extra expense of having a sign post erected, as well as buying a sign to place on it and the required distance, etc., but a few valued those customers that needed this service, as well as those who stated they would go somewhere else to do their shopping if this wasn't put into place. And on a few occasions, those angry citizens would call back in and complain to my supervisor, that I was refusing to uphold the law, as there was a handicap sign out there and they wanted me fired!!! Funny how that is.....either we aren't doing our jobs when THEY want us to, but if we pull them over for speeding, running a red light or stop sign, etc., then why aren't we out catching the real criminals....
I'm just wondering if this video was simply a propoganda piece considering that the technology probably isn't cheap and exactly how many of these are in operation across the former USSR, and whether such could/would be implemented here in the west?
