First off, I apologize if this doesn't fit the criteria of the thread exactly, but figured Tom will tell me if it isn't (or move it).
Secondly, this is NOT my creation; it was found on one of my local yahoo group sites and has not been verified in any way, shape or form.
So if you do plan on using or trying it, do so at your own risk of embarassment, if it doesn't pan out as stated. I wouldn't advise trying it
out on a first date either; most women might not be too impressed with the "Big Spender".....just saying. With that said, if it helps out
even one person, than mission accomplished. Will I try it myself? I reaaally don't know.....are you calling me OLD?!!!
For Folks 55+
Updated list of discounts for "old folks" at numerous businesses.
I recognize we all are affluent we don't care about this sort of a think (not sure I subscribe to that statement.)
A large portion of the population (approaching fifty percent) have much given free to them that is possible through
our generous tax dollar 'donations'. The preponderance of the discounts here are in 10-15% range.
Well, excuse me, but I'm not too proud to inquire almost everywhere these days if they have an 'old folks' discount.
I've been surprised a few times that they did have such. These ''nickle-dime'' discounts add up over the year and help
fend off the grocery price creep. Have you noticed the grocery price increases since the the 1st of the year - I'm guessing it's up by 8-10 percent this year.
REVISED SENIOR DISCOUNT LIST
Keep this list and send a copy to your senior friends and relatives. As I was waiting in line behind an
older gentleman at Wendy's recently, I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register
apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors
over age 55 get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. Being of 'that' age myself, I figured I might
as well ask for the discount too. This incident prompted me to do some research , and I came across a list
of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts
with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and how some of them start at the young age of 50.
This list may not only be useful for you, but for your friends and family too. YOU must ASK for your discount!
