I make my own thick noodles but does anyone make spaghetti noodles and other pasta like perogies, etc? Worth it? I like the idea but struggling when you can buy bags of spaghetti for $1.

We have a hand mechanical pasta maker with a couple noodle size attachments. Tried it out, satisfied it works, packed it back up for use when and if we need it. Otherwise, as @wvfarmgirl , pasta is cheap, stores well, and a whole lot less effort.

Funny, but I have never thought of perogies as pasta and have never used a machine to make them.

It's really quick and easy, but I hit a high sale on boxed pasta and the price was a reason to grab it.
I do this coupon deal and to save on gas I buy shelf stable items we can use when the stars line up.
Safeway just for you really allows me to save on gas.
10cents off per $100 spent. That's the base but Often online I can add to that Extra 15% off items in a certain section Extra 5gas points for spending $50on on trip on a certain day ..5has points is 50 cents off per gallon.
50cents = $12.50 ...
3x your has points if you cyber clip a coupons..
Gas is a major expense for myself.
When I pick up stuff for a few people I help they don't drive at all so that make my gas points rise. And so I got about 30pounds of dry pasta store that we are eating thru it . On average I get over a tank of gas free a month and often more. Wed. Is online coupon day. Friday is shopping day unless there is a different day that will get me more points.

Me too, but I will have to wait a little bit. Usually we make them only for the Christmas holidays, but we make so many that there is more than enough to freeze for eating throughout most of the year.
We make three types of perogies; traditional potato and cheese, cabbage and meat. I really don't have a favorite as I enjoy them all.

Kraut and mushroom is my favorite of all.

Occasionally we make pasta when the weather is nasty and we don't want to go to a store but it is easier to buy it. I have both the noodle machine and a pasta extruder for elbow pasta. Mostly now we make pasta for things like ravioli or perogies. We have a little hand tool that seals them into pockets.

Have a pasta machine and used it a couple times to get the knack, but same as Tom, its in storage in case its needed. The pasta it makes is great but very time consuming when i could be hitting metal of working dogs instead. Plus the stuff in packets is good enough and also probably cheaper than buy the ingredients to make it.
