In all my years (58) I've never seen anything like it...
This bad boy is bearing down on the southern Oregon coast...

From a local TV station website headline:
"This storm is what meteorologists call a “Meteorological Bomb” or “Bomb Cyclone.” A rapid drop in atmospheric pressure causes “explosive,” rapid strengthening."

BrewDaddy, do you have a place to shelter until this storm passes?

Other than some snow and high winds, the brunt of all of this is well away from me... I'm 50 miles inland and 50-100 miles north of land fall for this thing...
I've just never seen that form of looooooong arc coming this direction before... high winds are the norm at the coast, but 100 mph?? Yikes - I've never heard of that before...

Slacker! They're forecasting 75mph winds here, small hail with possible small tornadoes tonight. Supposed to start in about an hour. We've already put away anything light enough to get blown over the bluff. The storm shelter is stocked with chairs, water and lights, all we need to do now is get the darned cats in.

High winds here today. Up to 55mph gusts projected. Not supposed to hit until 10am but at 5am this morning my screen door got torn off by winds that weren’t supposed to be here yet. Snapped all 3 hinges. Should have fastened it shut when I had dogs out at 3a but didn’t even think about it. 🤦♀️ Texted my husband and told him to pull out the generator and run it for a while. Might need it later. His nephew just got everything hooked up in the breaker box up for it yesterday. High winds clear across the country. What the heck?! BrewDaddy, Ozarks Tom and everyone else, y’all stay safe and fasten those screen doors!

How did you fare BrewDaddy and Ozarks Tom? Is the worst of it past you? Same kind of weather here now. High wind, lakeshore flooding from the wind building up 15 foot waves. The weather report says "a few power outages" may happen...I expect more than a few, or maybe one really big outage. Alternating quite rapidly from bright and sunny to very dark clouds and thunder, and back to sunny.

Other than high winds tossing the RV around, small dead branches everywhere, it was mostly a none event as far as snow goes. Saw some flakes on the way in to work around 7 this morning, but nadda other than that.
Haven't heard from a lady friend with property down on the south coast... she was in the brunt of this thing... but she's a trooper so I'm optimistic she fared well. I hope...

I'd guess the winds got over 50mph, but no damage with the exception of the latch on the sheep barn door pulling loose so the sheep couldn't get in when it blew shut. My fault really, I should have use a heavier latch with longer screws.
Other than that, the panic merchants on TV were just that. Didn't even have any limbs blown down, which is good because our burn pile from the last big winds is already 8' tall.
It's supposed to start raining here tonight and continue right through Saturday morning. We're having some friends and relatives Friday for a delayed Thanksgiving, so we'll have nice time inside anyway.

We got a helping hand from the wind. Knocked down a couple dead trees we were going to fell, and gave us loads of kindling.
