Spent quite a bit of time chasing lambs, and after catching them enticing their mothers to join them in the nice dry, un-windy barn. Not successful in all cases, it seems some mothers would rather not be bothered.
Spent a good deal of yesterday trying to get our trail bike running. It would run some on full choke, but then die. Off full choke not even a sputter. That usually means a clogged carb, so I pulled it and soaked it in carb cleaner. Put it back on, and gas was leaking around the gaskets. Realized I'd put the gaskets on backwards, and after reinstalling the whole mess needed some pain reliever from pulling that danged cord at least a hundred times. Called my friend at the feed store and asked if there was any good small engine guys around - "not really, most just replace parts. What motor is it, I can probably get you a new carb for less than a service guy would charge." Yep, a replacement carb is a whole $12. I spent hours and lots of effort to save $12.

Tom, and anybody else running Chinese engines, an extra carb is cheap and available and that is the most vulnerable part of the engine, so stock up, but if you ever decide to service one instead of replacing it, use the "choke cleaner" on all of the internal parts and get a few of the old fashioned "tag wires" that used to be used to wire tags on merchandise and use them to open the tiny holes in the jets, after you remove EVERY SINGLE JET in the assembly.
I had to open a sample of every carb in use in cars in 1964 in my tech school classes and explain the purpose of every single hole in every carb, and tag wires were the mapping devices. Hard to find these days, but they beat every other tool on the planet......Joe

Saturday one of my seed boxes was overflowing with rain. I poured it out and put the box in the chicken house, Now I guess I will have to check or will know if I poured out the seeds.

I managed to pick up a nice load of chiggers while we were out working in the yard yesterday. That's what I get for wearing shorts.

I went over to a neighbor's yesterday and sat for a hour long chat. He bought half a cow which made me happy, and I would be even happier if the abattoir would ever let me schedule the deed. It is 4H season here so the butcher is way backed up.
I brought home a load of ticks. I HATE TICKS!

Yeah, as uncomfortable as chiggers make me, I think I'd prefer them to ticks. I forgot to mention, we also found a coral snake in the garage! DH managed to kill it but it left him weak in the knees because he's not able to move very fast these days.

Careful with the corals. On our back porch this morning, the cats left us the remains of the coral's color brother, a king snake. It was just a small one, 18 inches, beautiful, but quite stiff.

When I had my cabin in SE Oklahoma I stopped by a neighbor lady's house about something. When I walked up on her long concrete front porch I noticed a copperhead sunning itself at the end. When she answered the door I asked her if she'd named her new pet yet. When I pointed she said something I can't repeat here, grabbed a 20 gauge shotgun standing inside her front door, and blew it in half.
Unfortunately, her almost new Ford pickup was parked just beyond the porch, and caught the entire load's ricochet in the driver's door. Darned expensive snake.

Tom, I think what we've learned is that when you approach a lady's house, as soon as you say anything, she grabs a gun and starts shooting.
Lesson learned.

Made an early trip to the local supermarket😝oh my, it was packed with people with loaded carts, overflowing. All disinfectant anything, was gone. No bread, no chop meat, chicken, hardly any meat except lamb. All soups gone! Now I need to go later to another small market, mainly for bread & chop meat & any disinfectant if it’s to be found.
The lines, 4 registers, were almost lined up out the door.
We have no virus cases here in our village or surrounding towns ...thank God!!! I told you my son works for our village. They’re outdoors most of the time. They were told not to punch in or out, to disinfect steering wheels in the trucks, wash hands well & that is it. I guess there’s not much more they can do for their own health.
All restaurants here are closed, only deliveries or pick ups allowed.

Well apparently some entity has posted on Twitter that the President is about to mandate a national quarantine and warned that everybody should go get what they need for 2 weeks. NSC and President have made statements saying that is fake news but it might explain why stores are still getting wiped out.
DD said they went to HEB yesterday and that the store was well stocked. Only one entrance open, they were restricting the number of people allowed in the store and there was a security guard at the entrance.
