Come on, admit it. Y'all are throwing away a bunch of milk jugs,2 liters, soda and water bottles. And like me,you probably feel a little guilty about it and wish there was something you could use them for.
I talk 2 liters and store my dry beans in them. I will put them in the freezer to make sure that if any critters are in there they are dead. Next day I take them out and let wax from a burning candle drip on the neck and cap to seal it. Then you can store anywhere and be confident they'll stay good.
-Take a couple 2 liters and cut the bottom off then cut the tops off right where it starts to get smaller.Get an ice pick and some fishing line and invert the top back in the body of the one you cut it off of,Punch 3 equally spaced holes and use the fishing line and 2 of the holes to re-attach the the neck.do this with both bottles ten attach the bottoms to eachother.Punch holes all over it and use a bread ty for the other two holes you didn't tie off before. You have got a great minnow/crawdad trap.(Use one hole to tie a long piece of line to.To attach the bottoms I slit both up a few inches and slide together and tie. Duct tape is faster and easier but is short lived it water.)Make a bunch for future use. Wade

2 liters are especially hand to store spagette in.The small opening keeps it more controllable when removing. Wade

It's aluminum powder and ammonia nitrate. It makes a big boom. We use it target shooting at distance. BTW a milk jug full will get the authorities at your house pretty quick.

Off topic-As a kid (8or 9) I got volunteered to go with dad to the neighbors and help dig out stumps. Some were too big so the used 1/4 stick of dynamite. We worked over there for what seemed like weeks. We were finally done except for the biggest stump in the field. Emmett had 5 stick left and decided to use them up.Dad sent me home. The way I understand it they never did find that stump. Wade

You can also put a cup of salt & a cup of water in a milk jug, shake well, tighten the cap & throw the jug in your livestock water tank. It won't freeze over.

I never thought of that!Good idea!
I keep a lot in the freezer. I should keep it full then if power went out the volume of ice gives you a lot of extra time you can go without electric.
I've got a drink container that holds 6-7 gallon so drop a jug of ice in and fill her up! And I'll throw 3-4 in the cooler if we are going fishing for the day. Keeps things cold and you don't have to worry about drowning your bread and bologna

I cut the bottoms off bleach bottles to make scoops. I use the scoops for floor dry, sand/salt, animal feed. The scoop holds a fair amount, and it has a handle!!!

...........When I was growing up , back last century , good friend had a cousin from Missouri who would bring him a big paper sack full of M80's and cherry bombs ! So , anyway he told me , he put an m80 in the coin return slot of the old style pay telephones . Said it would UNlock that silver coin box quite nicely at the bottom of the phone . Anybody round these parts ever try such ? , lol , fordy

Remember the old coke machines that had a narrow glass door on the left as you were facing it? Open the door, pop the top and catch it in a cup. Wade

They used to sell a "kit" that would turn 2 liter bottles into container for storage. The "kit" came with a ring that went over the cut edge of the bottle and a lid to fit the ring. I have about 8 bottles in the garage that contain things like wire nuts, sorted by size and color..
