Thanks Jolly, I'll check what I need for my 8n. Speaking of oil, does it really get old? It's been about three years since I changed oil in my 8n, but during that time I've probably only put 20 hours on it. I stopped doing the gravel road. I wouldn't mind changing it, but I don't like wasting time and money if it's not necessary.

Up here our NAPA store is VERY good at finding things like that.. They have been able to cross reference and get most anything we have needed.. We needed fuel and oil filters for Sweeties old 150hp International diesel tractor. They were expensive, but still cheaper than tractor dealer or OEM..
I got filters there for my old mid 1980s JD855 compact. When I need filters for the newer 2015 JD2032R I will call NAPA first..

Good info. July is oil changing season on the farm. We do everything all at once so there's never a worry as to what might have been forgotten.

There are lots of opinions out there on whether oil can go bad just sitting in the crankcase. I don't know. Kubota specifies oil changes every two hundred hours on their engines. I've got a diesel lawnmower with the D600 engine that only gets about 50 hours a year. I change every other spring.
