Got the better of the two old, cheap walk behind mowers home today.. Had it into the shop for a tune up.. It would not start cold, unless you took the starter rope cover off, wound it up with a socket on a drill and choked it covering the air in take.. Got tired of that..
So $140 later, it will start with second pull, but only mow 50 feet or so and stop like it run out of gas.. Will call tomorrow and take it back in..
Yes.. I know it may be foolish to put $140 in a used mower.. But you can not find a mower in town.. If you do it is $400 new.. You can find rechargeable for $300, but no way would I get that as I have the worst luck in the world with battery tools of most any kind..
We don't keep a manicured lawn by any means, but I do need to trim up around things even after I run the brush hog for the bulk of the yard.. Earlier this spring we got a flyer in the mail from a local Honda mower dealer.. Looked at it, but tossed it as too much to spend at that time.. May look again later this fall and see what is on sale before winter..
Rant off...

We love our electric mowers. On our 3rd (gave 1st away to BIL who is still using it). We bought Two 40 volt batteries Ryobi to interchange and can do our entire property with it.
Got it online through Home Depot. Quiet and efficient and even I can use it. Got it on either Black Friday or Cyber Monday on sale. Of course since we have 50 acres, we also have a John Deere Z655.

For $119 American, Harbor Freight sells a Chonda (Chinese Honda Clone) motor that fits push lawnmowers. The motor is supposedly pretty good.
