We're having a pretty quick jump in cases, I think. I'm a bit confused as our county had 13 cases, got 1 more, and they're reporting 18 cases. I know math isn't my strong point, but...
Number of cases in this area has jumped as well. We also have our first death in our county, a lady who went to visit in California and had contact with 4-5 confirmed cases. She apparently wasn't very sick, didn't need to be hospitalized, had no underlying problems, was getting better, then just died. 🙁
They're complaining about seeing 8 cars with out of state plates here over the 4th (2 of which were undoubtedly my grandkids and my friend), but not one word said about the hundreds of protesters here from Portland and other large cities over the last month. The rise in cases couldn't possibly be connected to the protests.

Here they are protecting NY boarders & not letting anyone in with out of state plates, from the hot spots...FL, SC, AR, etc. I don't know how they are going to do that really. Sounds kind of difficult. Once this horrible virus strikes your areas, then it really makes one think. We had the over 35,000 cases in our county...in my Village 170 cases, with 7 deaths. Once it hits so close to home wildhorseluvr, that's when it starts getting very frightening. You have God watching over you, as do I....no worries, give it to God. Be smart & stay safe...xo

Our governor said yesterday that he was disappointed people are resisting the mask order & if Texas can't get it under control, we may have to lock down again....as a last resort. In my county, at least, there are very few that aren't wearing a mask. Don't know about the rest of the state but I think the deaths & hospitalizations have finally gotten peoples' attention here & they're getting scared now. I hope so b/c I'd really hate to see things get locked down again.

The governor here said they going to have to work on peoples attitudes. He told how vaccinations , seat belts and other things had been forced on the people and now they are accepted. “The people “ are beginning to sound like ignorant peons.
Like I heard this morning from a smart person, we do not know what to believe. This news says this, that news says the opposite. It sounds like blatant control is wanted. I am not against masks where needed. But I do not want to be told a lie to force me to wear one.

our county health department has demanded everyone wear a mask in public places, and if not the business owner will be fined. the person not wearing a mask can get away with breaking the health department rules but the business is the one paying for it?

I have keep up with new York and Florida regs right now. As I will be traveling back and forth from those into 2 different state plus alaska. coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisoryAlaska to Florida Florida to New York New York to Florida Florida to AlaskaTiming and planning is very thingSHARE SECTIONS Overview Restricted States Guidance for Travel Protect Yourself and Others Precautionary Quarantine Requirements Exemptions for Essential Workers Ineligible for Paid Sick Leave Scenario Frequently Asked Questions Overview In response to increased rates of COVID-19 transmission in certain states within the United States, and to protect New York’s successful containment of COVID-19, the State has joined with New Jersey and Connecticut in jointly issuing a travel advisory for anyone returning from travel to states that have a significant degree of community-wide spread of COVID-19. READ THE GUIDANCE NEXT SECTION Continue Restricted States Restricted States Based upon Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 205, issued June 25, 2020, the following states meet the criteria for required quarantine: Alabama Arkansas Arizona California Delaware Florida Georgia Iowa Idaho Kansas Louisiana Mississippi North Carolina Nevada Oklahoma South Carolina Tennessee Texas Utah This is based upon a seven day rolling average, of positive tests in excess of 10%, or number of positive cases exceeding 10 per 100,000 residents. NEXT SECTION Continue Guidance for Travel Guidance for Travel The travel advisory is effective at 12:01 am on Thursday, June 25, 2020. If you have traveled from within one of the designated states with significant community spread, you must quarantine when you enter New York for 14 days from the last travel within such designated state, provided on the date you enter into New York State that such state met the criteria for requiring such quarantine. The requirements of the travel advisory do not apply to any individual passing through designated states for a limited duration (i.e., less than 24 hours) through the course of travel.
ok I land in Florida but h Catch a flight to ny within 24 hours... I am good to go. Ok grab my niece head to Florida 5days there then return to New York but fly out after a layover and I am back heading to Alaska .. Get to Alaska take the test (free) when I land and do 14 days on the farm.Examples of such brief passage include but are not limited to: stopping at rest stops for vehicles, buses, and/or trains; or lay-overs for air travel, bus travel, or train travel.
The red is straight from the regs. The travel advisory requires all New Yorkers, as well as those visiting from out of state, to take personal responsibility for complying with the advisory in the best interest of public health and safety. My niece will have to do 14days in the guest wing like her father had to totally separate complete set up when she get back to New york. For questions about the travel advisory please refer to the guidance linked here. For general inquires contact the call the Hotline: 1-888-364-3065 or Ask a Question. To file a report of an individual failing to adhere to the quarantine pursuant to the travel advisory click here or call 1-833-789-0470. Individuals may also contact their local department of health.

In Indiana, yesterday and the day before (July 10 + 11) had 750+ new positive cases (each day).
DURING THE LOCK DOWN, we had 3 days of the 10 weeks of total lock down that had as many or more positive cases in a day.
Yet we are open. Restaurants and bars stuffed full of people (only supposed to be 75% at 6 feet apart) Concerts going County fairs in progress Protests 4th of July festivals and parades.......
So tell me why, you kicked the legs out from under us for 10 weeks, took away our income and ability to self sustain, destroyed our economy, wrecked our mental health and generally screwed us over for 10 weeks........when the numbers are the same today as they were during lock down?

It was for your own good, because everyone knows politicians are smarter than we are. Well, that and the feeling of power if gives them.

Florida and Mississippi are getting close to ICU capacity, as is Houston. Remember, watch admissions and deaths.
I heard on Brian Kilmeade's radio show a couple of days ago that while Houston ICU is close to capacity, but only 15% of the patients were C19. I wasn't in the car long enough to hear much more, so I don't know what to believe from that.

Our county is at red and about to go to purple, the worst level. They count asymptomatic cases too, and the ICU is not deluged with Covid19 cases.
