There were a few articles on several websites yesterday regarding Antifa's plans to target a number of cities nationwide tonight. Didn't sound like they intended the protests to be peaceful. I know the city nearest Brewdaddy and the one closest to me were on the list. I can't find any current info.
Brewdaddy, anything happening in your area? I haven't heard a word about anything locally. Hopefully it was a nothing-burger.

Good, sounds like their day of terrorism fizzled out.
Andy Ngo says many of the "Wall of Moms" women are simply Antifa members dressed up in yellow t-shirts. Apparently the same is true of the "veterans" who recently turned out to support BLM.

Smoke and mirrors propaganda plucked directly from the methods used by the Soviets, Chinese, Cubans, North Koreans, etc.

There was a BLM protest in the city closest to me but only about 200 people and no major incidents reported. Looks like Eugene wasn't so lucky. How likely is it that these protests might spill over into your area, BrewDaddy,? Another town in our area held a flag waving rally yesterday to support Trump. 😎 Really starting starting to wonder what's going to happen in November.

Don't know why they'd come out to our little berg, but you never know...
Plus we are the home of the Oregon Country Fair which is a lefty haven fest, but then again these protesters don't seem to draw boundaries of Friend or Foe - they just want to destroy everything...
If they DO show up out here and start protesting/trashing, it won't take them long to figure out that there is a community (mine) that is at the end of a long road with one way in/out. If they wanted to terrorize a group of people, we make a fine target.
Hence my recent desire for more of an In Your Face open carry option(s).

Don't know why they'd want to come to my little town either, but they've been here 5 times already. My take on it is they want people to believe we're not safe anywhere, including Small Town, USA. I hope they realize the tables can be turned.

I understand your point, but your berg and my berg are nearly polar opposites of each other for the most part. Where you live the folks are by and large hard working, God fearing people with good ethics and morals. The highlight for the year is going to the rodeo at the county fair or the Bull Bash in town. Your berg is 'Whiteness' and Americana defined. My berg, at least it's reputation, is the home of the Oregon Country Fair (OCF) with topless hippy chicks, patchouli stench permeating everything, and as liberal as it gets in these parts. How they call that thing family friendly is beyond me... In truth, the folks here in town couldn't care less about the OCF and in fact it's widely despised. This town of less that 5k swells to 30k overnight, traffic can't move, everything stinks, on and on. It's just a mess... That's why a LOT of folks get out of town for that weekend or grab supplies and just hunker down for 3 days which is what I did for my first year out here last summer (this year's OCF is canceled of course). But I digress... To protest where you live is to get in the face of folks and perhaps draw a rise out of people, whereas here I think most folks would just say 'meh' and be completely uninterested... there's no one here that would be interested or impressed with what they do.
BUT then again, anything is possible....

Thanks, Brew. I have to say that is not at all how I pictured your town. 😕 I tend to be somewhat Pollyanna-ish at times, thinking most small towns are like mine when I know that isn't always the case. Ugh, that OCF sounds...disgusting.
Prayers that your town, and you, stay safe.

There's little chance that any uprising or violent protests are likely to happen in our area. My take on the area is that a whole lot of people wouldn't mind mounting protestor's heads right beside their deer trophies. Getting in would be easy, getting out another matter.
I keep telling y'all in Oregon, you really need to get out of there. We've got lots of room in the Ozarks.

Ozarks Tom, I've been contemplating a PM for you.... not exactly sure how to phrase things so I keep starting over... wildhorseluvr, Don't get me wrong - I like this town (Veneta) quite a bit... it's the OCF and the carry-over from Eugene that detracts, and the summer time weekend traffic (except this year of course)... but it's all workable... this isn't Plan A for a retirement location since the coast is my goal, but living on a lake like I am now isn't the worst place to end up. bd

If I were alone, moving out your way would certainly be an option, I'm still up for an adventure or two! 🙂 At this point I've no idea where I'll end up, other than I want to be near family and far away from everything liberal.

wildhorseluvr , Wait just a doggone minute! You're saying you'd rather stay among the snakes and socialist politicians (sorry for the redundancy) than come where you can wear a gun on your hip in any store, the word democrat is an expletive, because there are poisoness snakes in the long grass? Well then, mow your grass. In tall grass snakes are predators, in short grass they're prey. I haven't seen a copperhead in over 5 years. Now, we do have, and welcome black snakes as they eliminate the mice and rats. When they get too bold and start eating your eggs, well, something has to be done. The Ozarks aren't perfect by any means, we've got our percentage share of idiots, criminals, druggies, and just all around stupid people. But here's the path to success in living here. Don't tell the native folks what they've been doing wrong for 50 years, ask their advice on gardening, animal care, and anything else they probably know more about than you. I've gone down to the river fishing and had to avoid catching a snake a couple times. First of all, snakes are really hard to fillet. And second, cutting the poison glands out of a water moccasin you hit in the head with your lure is way too time consuming. By the way, water moccasins are only aggressive in the Spring. All in all, I'd much rather be in an area where where when a conservative speaks his/her mind they are applauded than burned out of their house.
