My wife is from the Harrisburg area, and when we were courting, there was a small nut and sweets shop that made and carried "blister peanuts". I've found recipes, but none seem quite right...boiled and roasted...these were obviously deep fired.
Haven't found them in years (yes, variants, but not the same). Anyone familiar and willing to share a "how to"? They were delicious, oily as all get out and did a number on you, but were worth it. Is it just a local thing? I know boiled peanuts are a southern thing...these aren't those...and these also were not deep fried with the shells...I tried them...no thank you.
