Your dad and mine were born the same year. Just think of all the changes that happened to this old world in just the first fifty years of their lives!
My dad has been gone over ten years and I still miss him. You were fortunate to have a few more years with yours. But sadly, life eventually ends. It sounds like he had a good life, a good wife and children to love. That's more blessings than many.
My condolences to you and your family. May God grant you comfort in your time of sorrow.

My condolences to you and your family. My Dad, born 1928, died at 76 in 2004. Not a day goes by without my thinking of him.
Prayers inbound and continuing for you all.

For the last 3 years, I had called my dad each and every night. We would watch the same tv show together as if we were together in the same house instead of 200 miles apart. Also his church would video tape their service, and was shown on his cable. And at the same time it was on Youtube, so I would call him on Sunday morning, and we would watch and listen to the church service together. I mention that to the pastor before she did the funeral service, she thought that was really something that I cared enough for my dad and did that with him, she knew about my nightly calls but not listening to church together.

arabianknight, seems the apple did not fall far from the tree - Dad cared about others and so do you.

..............He lived a good , long life and you'll shared a common bond with continuity from start to finish ! That doesn't occur unless both Dad and Son care for each other and develop forgiving hearts ! , fordy

A good man raised a good son, what better tribute to carry on his legacy. Sorry for your loss, my Dad died in 1969
